1. "I know I'm on the Royals, just end me." 694666 :::prods ribs::: be good damn you, be good!
2. Are you sure it's not? The half-dozen Cabrera play both left and right last year in person, there was not much difference. Obviously McKeon and the coaches agree as they sent in as many defensive replacements for Cabs in the second half as the first. The only success Hermida had was finding his power stroke in the hot thin air of Phoenix. Aside from that he had a low batting average to go along with 7 walks and 30 strikeouts. 693793 Hot thin air of Phoenix huh? As a resident, I would like to inform you that our 8+ months of bright sunny weather is created by high pressure systems which cause the air to sink, and inhibit cloud formation and precipitation. Phoenix only gets low pressure systems for about 2 months out of the year, typically between the months of December and February.
3. It appears that FGCU only offers 4 credits for some courses that FSU gives 5 for. This is going to be tricky. 694436 I've never heard of a 5-credit course... 694481 Neither did I until I met FSU's PHY 2048C, MAC 2313, and PHY 2049C 694484 Those are lab courses right? If they are they are usually set up as 3 hours class/lecture and 2 hours of lab, or 4 hours class/lecture and 1 hour of lab. They sound like physical science classes so you will likely be in the 3/2 format. A communtity college my consider the 2 hour lab as worth only 1 credit so it would be in a 3/1 format. Going to the school that has a top 5 rated program in your field of study is an excellent idea. I wanted to study at UM, but wound up splitting time at Cal (baseball scholarship) and ASU (injury made me ineligible for scholarship, and ASU has top-five rated Architectural Engineering program).
4. Wow.. that PhishPhan is a first class a-hole, eh?? I would love to see Leiter on Opening Day. He's one of my favorite all time Marlin pitchers. Not only cause he's a nice guy, but he put up some good numbers when he was with us his first time around. I think he'll be great once again this season. His home park is pitcher friendly and he's got much better defense than he's had the past 7 years. I agree that Beckett would really benefit from pitching in the 3 hole... He wouldn't be facing all the aces (at least for the first month or so). If he stays healthy, he can rack up a bunch of wins. My rotation would go... Leiter Burnett Becket Willis Valdez I know that doesn't give us the lefty/righty thing all the way down, but I think that's overrated anyways. 694392 Actually after the second game, it would be a R-L-R-L-R rotation, and would be that way for the remainder of the season, so long as you don't put three righties back to back to back.
5. It would be nice to see Reed make some progress in contact. I read a report somewhere that he was stealing bases without having to slide. But its the contact that he needs to improve, and he's said to be slugging deficient much the same as Pierre is.

she needs to get over him. its an EX. you should do something really sweet, if shes worth it, and prove to be better than this dude. if she doesnt come around give her room. if she still doesnt, bunk her. 693678 I was gonna send her a Winnie the Pooh doll that says "Beeee Mine" or a nice bouquet of flowers....too much??? 694269 Haha- barf. Though she's probably a girly girl and would like that kind of crap. Do not send gifts after one date. That comes off really dorky. Don't even send them after like, three. 694299 I don't know, a small bouguet of flowers would probably be better. But if she's still not over the ex like she said, I would probably just give her a call, just to confirm for her that you still think she exists.
7. We should really hope for the spring training surprise. While Valdez could benefit from being infront of the Marlin defense, the Marlin offense has little to gain from him being on the mound every fifth day.

You're right... I never saw the way McGwire was in Oakland. I'm just basing this on the limited footage I've seen of him talking with the media (aside from his homerun chase in 1998, where he was extremely media friendly). And you mentioned something I meant to ask Cobaincola as well.. He has already accused Bonds a couple of times of beating his wife.. Where the hell did that come from? 694006 http://fl.bna.com/fl/19990427/75328.htm 694047 Umm... you don't expect me to read that entire thing do you? I think you confuse this forum with a job, cobain.. I find it hilarious all the time you put into finding links and this and that... I come here to talk baseball dude.. To have a good time with some other baseball fans... i don't come here to do what I have to do at work... Knock yourself out with all the links and all the research you do.. God bless you for having the time. As for me, you will always win a battle when it comes to providing sources, cause I honestly don't care as much as you do and cannot put the time into it that you do. Now, to quickly address your link, cause I know how you get when people avoid your questions or comments. I didn't read it, but at a quick glance it just looked like Bonds was being charged with something.. Whatever the charge was, that's all it is.. a charge. By no stretch of the imagination does that mean he's guilty.. It's pretty evident that you really really don't like Barry. We get it. Your point is well taken. I understand... 694077 All the work to find links? Everyone knows he's had spousal abuse charges filed against him, all it took was going to yahoo.com and then typing: Barry Bonds Spousal Abuse... It was very arduous. We get it that you like Bonds. So much so that you will stand behind him no matter how many times he lies to you as fan because you're that stupid. I understand.... 694247 You don't actually think that abuse of discretion is the same as spousal abuse do you? That entire link is to the legal document that covers a disagreement between Bonds and Sun over a prenuptial agreement. Sun tried to site another case as a precedent, but it was found irrelevent because there was no proof of spousal abuse. If you are going to google for information, review the information before you post it to provide proof using unrelated material.
9. I'll be in Florida from March 8th thru 15th, hoping on catching a game while I'm there. If not, when I get back to Arizona, I'll catch some ST games here.
10. I don't really mean to look at this in a condescending manner and I'm not contemptuous of Jack but that joke isn't so funny. I don't feel disdain for Jack but I was not amused by that joke. When you pay someone a prodigious sum of money just to simply play baseball they're not just an ordinary person off the streets. 690799 That wasn't funny either buddy. Anyway, keep working on your vocabulary. :thumbup 690804 huh? I wasn't trying to be funny buddy. I was trying to bring out a point that had the manager of any other team said that you guys wouldn't have laughed our looked at it in a positive perspective. You guys have to be impartial, not biased! 690810 I'm pretty sure had Torre said something along those lines (or Scoscia, Baker, Alou, Showalter, or Cox) I would have found it just as funny as when McKeon said it. We have to have the capacity to find something as simple as that joke funny.
11. 1. Cabrera will hit more homers than Delgado? Fiction 2. Burnett's ERA will be under 3.50? Fact 3. Burnett will surpass Pavano's win record? Fact 4. Pierre will hit 3 homers this year? 12. If our bullpen is struggling, we can make a move in June or July. 690864 So it wouldn't bother you if our bullpen struggled for a month or two since it's not that long...I understand. It wouldn't irritate me either... if I wasn't a Marlins fan. :plain 690871 Our bullpen looks fine to me. Every team (even the Yankees) has issues with its bullpen coming into the season. The addition of Delgado means more than the addition of one or two more arms in the pen. Besides, with Delgado here, several more games may not come down to the bullpen as they would if he wasn't here. 690885 Our bullpen is not fine...we lost a key pitcher in Benitez and Mota will never be able to pitch the way Benitez did last year. Our bullpen this upcoming year will be worse than our bullpen last year IMO. And what I'm sacred of with the bullpen is that even though we have Delgado we may get the lead early in the game and give it up and lose in the end with the bullpen. And don't compare our bullpen to the top spenders in the leauge bullpen...please. The Yankees dont use their money wisely but theyre still good. 690900 Given the limited number of innings pitched a reliever will see, it is difficult to guage or even label one as bad. In fact if you made the comparison of the Marlins to the rest of the league, you can make that comparison to all clubs in MLB. In fact, when ranked with the rest of MLB, the Marlins bullpen was average in 2004 in ERA, but above average in nearly every counting stat available. ESPN Pitching Stats As for Mota not throwing like Benitez did last year, not even Benitez thought he would pitch that way. Career Stats
13. Late Breaking news...... It appears some of SD Chickens, Kinda-west Kidz Klan has taken their vengance out on Just-more East Where Southflorida-is leader Billy the Marlin. The K.K.K. beat the J.E.W.S. this time. :plain RIP 686035 Is that a Marlin or sailfish? And is that real? That is ginormous! 686068 That 's a marlin, sailfish have a more pronounced fin on their back, sorry can't think of what its actually called at the moment.

15. Right f_m, that's what I was getting at. At the same time I won't deny that the possibility exists either. (regarding God or WMDs) The search for truth is a good thing. The searching isn't what I have a problem with... 668254 Indeed, its the searching that you can commend someone for, its making the claim without first experiencing the trials of the search that is questionable. I also find it hard to agree with someone that says that God did this for me in regards to changes in their life, abilities or situation. While I do believe in God, I do give myself at least some credit in improving my situation, there is much to be said of ambition and confidence with humility. You also can't expect an atheist to be moved by the words of an evangelist, as a declared atheist isn't necessarily searching at that point in life. An evangelist's strength is to stir the interest of nonbelievers who are searching. I have been thru the process, studied various religions in an effort to find some essence of truth, and for many years I was a Taoist, not so much a religion, but a philosophy of life. I naturally accepted God in my own time, under my own freewill, because of my searching, I am much more appreciative of my faith than if I would have been had it been crammed down my throat since childhood.
16. Sounds good to me. I can bring the hand held TV and listen to Tommy and ???....sure beats Dave VanBoring...also get to watch the replays which is a bonus. 674034 Kind of off topic, but how come stadiums rarely ever show replays...always makes me mad when there is a good play or big hit and they don't show a replay. 674057 I think it is to prevent fans from getting, how do you say... upset over blown calls and such.
