  1. Gotta give some love to Otsuka. 1.99 ERA 25 holds 67 K 6-2 58.2 IP .190 OPP BA All better numbers than Mota (minus IP).
  2. Dolphins fans sure talk a lot of crap considering their team has no RB, a mediocre QB, and a below-average WR core. Defense ain't bad though.
  3. http://www.chargers.com/news/pr_headline_d...ase_key=309#Top Saturday, August 14, 2004 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE San Diego Chargers All-Pro running back LaDainian Tomlinson has signed a new eight-year contract with the team that will make him the highest paid running back in National Football League history. Tomlinson?s new deal will run through the 2011 season. ?This is a momentous occasion for the Chargers and all Charger fans,? said team President Dean Spanos. ?LaDainian represents everything you want from a player. He is our role model. Every young player should aspire to be like L.T.; the way he carries himself on and off the field. He has demonstrated he CAN do and WILL do what it takes to be a winner and to be the best. And he is, undoubtedly, the best running back in the National Football League.? Tomlinson is on the verge of becoming the team?s all-time leading rusher and holds many of the team?s rushing records. Last season, Tomlinson became the first player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards and catch 100 passes in the same season. It was particularly important to Tomlinson that Spanos took an active role in the negotiations. ?It means a lot,? said L.T. ?To me, it meant that he cared about it and that he wanted to get (the contract) done. It was nice to have him involved.? Chargers General Manager A.J. Smith echoed Spanos? thoughts on the new contract. ?The entire organization is thrilled for L.T. and his new contract,? beamed Smith. ?It?s a great contract for a great player and a great young man.? Chargers Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer has said on more than one occasion that he considers Tomlinson the best running back that he?s ever seen play in the National Football League. Schottenheimer believes that this sends an important message to the other players in the locker room. ?LaDainian is certainly one of the best I?ve ever been around, both as a player and how he carries himself off the field,? said Schottenheimer. ?I?ve been around a lot of great players, but certainly he?s in a class of his own. From a team chemistry standpoint, it?s extremely important to everyone involved with this organization to know that L.T. is going to be here for many more years. My hat goes out to Dean (Spanos) and everyone who worked hard to get this contract done.? Tomlinson, who is building a 10,000 square foot home in Poway with his wife, LaTorsha, is pleased that this contract will allow him to remain in San Diego for the next eight seasons. He has never wavered in his desire to play for the Chargers. ?Absolutely, (the Chargers) have obviously committed themselves to winning and it?s just a way that they have proven they?re committed to winning,? added Tomlinson. ?I think we can move forward from here.? During his brief career, Tomlinson has garnered numerous honors. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2002, he was named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press in 2002 and 2003 and he was the runner-up in AP?s Rookie of the Year voting in 2001.
  4. Well he is kinda skinny at that. Yeah, that too. Now if you were talking about GIles, then I would agree. That guy wears clothes twice his size and his helmet is at least 3 sizes too big. :lol
  5. I don't think his jersey is any bigger than anyone else's. Sorry if he doesn't want his jersey to be skin tight, and I am sure the last thing on his mind is his idea to risk taking one in the ribs if it should miss his jersey.
  6. Boston gets bashed more than he deserves. He isn't as big of a distraction as people act (as if he is worse than Owens), and even on a bad year he is good for 800+ yards. "The Miami Dolphins, taking advantage of the Chargers stupidity since 2003"
  7. San Diego > Florida. 75 year round with barely any humidity. :cool I may end up going to UM though. :thumbup
  8. When are we gonna get this started? :whistle
  9. on your dolphin picks you are way off WHy do you say that? Oh, and there was a typo in the second round that was fixed.

  13. guess what? what? we arent claiming yet. oh... They started it.
  14. Chargers for me.
  15. The new and improved Padres. True dat.
  16. These teams still need a GM: Bengals Browns Colts Jaguars Vikings Giants Eagles Steelers Bucs The league goes through each step of the off-season, from cutting and tagging players, to FA, to the draft. If you want one of these teams, you need to know them inside and out, and you will need to spend about 15 minutes a day maximum on the forum. Since it is an invite league only, PM me if you want to join, this way it prevents stupid people from joining. Thanks! YOu can also send me an IM on AIM @ EscobarStiLLiLL
  17. Okay, I'm seeing a part about "claiming teams."? Can anyone tell me how this contest works? im not 100% sure but Mr Franklin has told me that we will have board members claim teams as if they are the GM and they will make the picks that best fit the organizational needs. example: Ramp "claims" Colts he wouldnt take a QB in the 1st he would most likely take a player on the D thats how i have put it together so far... Ah, I see....so let's say I have the team that holds the first pick. I make my pick, then it is up to the GM of the team that has the 2nd pick to make a selection within a certain amount of time (I assume), and so on. Am I close? Except the Chargers are my team! If anyone takes them, they may "accidentally fall on a knife".

  19. IDK why he thinks Reggie WIlliams will fall to #29. :plain
  20. I could see you guys going after Losman, he will be great. He has one of the best raw arms in football, and is a great scrambler too (not Vick, more like Flutie in terms of scrambling). The only knock on him is that he has some mechanical issues that can be worked out, a la David Carr.
  21. 15, San Diego, CA
  22. Michael clayton is really good but would like Miami to get a QB agreed. eli and big ben are good enough to start this year. i'm hoping losman is good enough, too. free agency looks awful. Well I think miami should really try to go for it this year. Go after Losman or Rivers but if they don't want to then get Michael Clayton. Also why not go after Keyshawn and if Brad Johnson is cut go after him. Johnson not cut then maybe Brunell who I don't like very much. I don't really care if they don't get a QB in FA but if they do then they don't really have to draft a QB. Also need help on the offensive line big time. Defense is just fine. WIN ONE FOR MARINO. Keyshawn would be perfect for Miami. He is a possesion receiver, who doesn't run deep routes, but runs great short routes and holds onto the ball. Him and Williams together sounds good. And the best part is that they won't be able to beat on the Chargers next year! :cool
  23. That's a lot to read.
  24. I wanna trade down to about #3, and take Gallery (CHargers). I say #3 because if its any lower, he would go to the Giants. Gamble has a crapload of talent, but is one of the most raw players in the draft. He has great size for a DB, and after a couple years as a nickel back, he could emerge as a top-tier guy. Hall could make a more immediate impact, especially on special teams, and has physical qualities that you cant teach. It's a crapshoot as far as i'm concerned.
  25. Nevin will be at 1B...Klesko will be in whichever corner outfield spot that he and the OF's agree is easier to play. 2B Lorretta 3B Burroughs LF Giles 1B Nevin RF Klesko CF Payton C Hernandez SS Green the problem will be keeping Nevin and Payton healhty. i believe Long now has the title of highest paid 4th OF. Nevin isn't really an injury concern. His injuries over the last 2 years were freak injuries, and not ones that will come back and nag. Payton is pretty durable too as far as I can tell.
