  1. See, this is how I look at movies: They aren't that important to me. A good movie is a good movie is a good movie. It'll never have the impact that a good book or a good album will have on me, so I mostly go to movies for entertainment, and I rarely expect much out of them, which is why I rarely leave a movie dissapointed. So a movie that looks like it'll have a killer car chase, and a hot chick blowing up zombies with a gun attached to her leg looks like it'll entertain the hell out of me. Can't ask for much more, can you? (For full disclosure, I'm a journalism major in college who is looking to become a music critic, thus the importance music has over movies in my life. Though one day I do hope to make a killer zombie movie in the vein of Night Of The Living Dead.)
  2. 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. 18/20 positive so far. Just bought my tickets online, I can't wait. That's because Tarantino can do no wrong in the eyes of E-critics. He is the poster child of the generation. Is that because he makes good movies, or because he makes bad movies? I bet it's because he makes bad movies. Critics love bad movies. Somewhere in between. The Kill Bills were much better than typical Hollywood fare, but not even close to warranting the praise they received (particularly the second one). And yes, I'm inclined to say that modern E-critics do love many bad films (I think many are forced to). Note I am not talking about the Peter Cowies of the world. I loved Kill Bill 2, probably more than #1. Granted 1 was a huge departure for him, whereas 2 was more in his wheelhouse, but I thought it benefitted from him being more comfortable.

  4. Its R rating might hurt its box office intake. I wouldn't be surprised if Blades of Glory was no. 1 again. Grindhouse will probably do better then expected. I'm not sure about Grindhouse's box office potential. I've been trying to get my friends to go see it and nobody wants to. They'll see the f***ing Reaping, but not a Tarantino/Rodriguez joint. Kids these days.
  5. This movie looks ridiculously awesome. It's not going to have much of a plot (either one) but it's going to be sweet. Definetly seeing this on friday.
  6. I hear your not much of uh bibuhl reda. - Stereotypical Southern Church Goer/Preacher "Some folks just don't want to go to heaven." I'm trying to figure out this movie, since MTV/VH1/Comedy Central keep showing the commercial non stop and I have no idea who the bad guy is. I want to say it's the preacher, but it may be satan. But it may be jesus. What are they going for here? And it's gonna be the #1 movie in America... I know numerous people who want to see it.. Ugh.
  7. When I first heard about it, it seemed like a possibly interesting premise, but the previews just make it look so stupid. The plot looks dumb, but the dialogue sounds even worse. "Are you going to kill my baby?" "No!" "Why not?"
  8. The more previews I see, the worse this movie looks.
  9. I stand by my statement that that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
  10. She is still so hot...
  11. he needs to stop crying He's really gotten alot better about that on his last 4 albums. His first few were really bad, as he did that awful goat boy "emotion" thing, but lately his singing has been much better. I'd love to hear him rerecord his earlier albums with new arrangements, as he's really benefitted from collaborating and focusign more on the singing and songwriting.
  12. You realize that shortstops have to play defense, right? Because of the sheer volume of balls that are hit in his direction, a shortstop's biggest impact on the game is made with his glove. And in that department, Hanley was pretty bad last season. I'll agree that he has major potential, but I wouldn't go around crowning him the NL's best after his performance last season. Reyes is an overrated gloveman, and the two of them are so far above all other SS in the NL that even if they are only avg with the glove they are head and shoulders above the rest.
  13. This is blasphemy....This is madness!

I'm hoping my friends pull through for me and I see a little of this tomorrow morning. COngrats, Gators!
  15. I'd say he's arguably as Reyes right now OPS Hanley: .833 Reyes: .841 Essentially the same there. SB% Hanley: 77% Reyes: 79% Reyes has less K's, but also a lot less doubles. Hanley in his first year is as good as Reyes was in his 4th.
  16. And there it is. A called strike. Boo!
  17. Did anyone else see Cliffsgirl just now on the pregame show? At least I think it was her...

I just told my friend at UF if the gators repeat he has to burn a couch for me.
  19. Hit - Hanley Ramirez Double - Hanley Ramirez Triple - De Aza HR - Olivo RBI - Cabrera Run Scored - Hanley Stolen Base - De Aza Caught Stealing - Hanley Ramirez Error - Mike Jacobs Win - Dontrelle Willis
  20. They're baaaaaaaaaaaack... I hate that a majority of the openers are day games on a weekday. Stupid jerks. But it's still back. Thats how it should be. I wouldn't want it any other way. :bases_homerun: I hope to see lots of this today!
  21. I just realized I need to fish out (get it? Ha!) my Marlins jersey for today.
  22. I'll be watching for sure. Excited!
  23. So we're one out into the season and Joe Morgan is already continuing his "War Against Statistics". It's gonna be a good year. Quite possibly the only reason I watch Sunday Night Baseball if the Sox are not on it. To hear Joe Morgan's misguided rants? To laugh and berate him from the couch. I also enjoy his subtle racism. Yes, Joe Morgan is quite entertaining/frustrating. If anyone in my dorms actually knew about baseball, I'd invite them over to share my popcorn and soda and make fun of Joe Morgan with me. (I assume you know of FireJoeMorgan.com, correct?)
