Lawrie probably isn't any better than Dietrich at this point. The ability to provide power from 2B (8 or 9 HR) or from 3B (McGehee rest) and do so with limited errors is pretty much exactly what we want from Deets and don't have. Lawrie plays above average defense, I can appreciate that.

Lawrie was untouchable at that point but he would've been so nice to have Might be able to get him now, with his sub .250 batting average- I'd take that if we an still plug him at 2B and ship Furcal, Tejada, Baker and a few Juan Pierre Bobbleheads to Toronto for him. I wished they fought for Arencibia or Lawrie myself . D'Arnaud and Snydergard would hVe been nice- but I'm sure it could have changed the dynamic of the trade a lot.
