  1. Redmonds call to the bullpen.
  2. You go for Rondon- if you don't get him you get the best college hitter /pitcher available I think. The Marlins should lean towards a hitter due to their depth at SP if Rondon isn't there.
  3. MARLINS FANS QUITTING AND RUNNING DOWN THE STREET!
  4. They must have already had someone on the way or already in San Diego..... Oh fuck.... If it's Heath Bell we riot.
  5. I'll give them a day, he may be needed for mop up Sunday and it is a cross country flight for any reliever. Plus it's mothers day
  6. Damn Lucas, you went to an Ivy League school- you should know you can't tie a 6 run game in one swing.
  7. Marmol will be DFA by the next series I think.
  8. He's always been touted as a potential future closer. His stuff plays very well in the backend of a bullpen. If he throws strikes on a more consistent basis, he has the stuff to dominate. A fastball that can touch triple digits can't be taught. His slider is a + pitch, as well. As a reliever, that's all you need. His #'s in the big leagues last year weren't good, but that was mostly due to an inflated total of HR's allowed. His #'s in the minor leagues were rather dominant and more telling of how good his stuff is. Capps easily has the best stuff in the bullpen -- Cishek included. The difference is that Cishek knows how to pitch while Capps is still more of a thrower with inconsistent command. Capps has a lot of upside though and should get a shot considering that all of our other relievers have the same issues but with lesser stuff. I'd like to see Capps get an opportunity. He's already earned the opportunity with his four innings of work so far considering what the other guys in the pen have done. Seeing Capps now for the first time it feels like- I never watched him pitch, just watched the game overall. His pitches look scary- like darts with venom tips being thrown at 100MPH His walk to headley now looked as much self defense as patience, hopefully he fixed his arm slot issue and he becomes a great asset. He seems a little wild, but I'm sure that's not the norm.
  9. I feel like this team loves to waste good pitcher starts with horrible bullpen play. Evoldi wasn't great, but to get through five with only 2 ER was an accomplishment considering this teams road woes.
  10. I'm sure we can all guess which book I've read last- It was a nice read, wish it said more about his trade and time with the Marlins.
  11. Fuck you Marmol. I hope Redmond comes out and takes your jersey off your back as well as the ball.
  12. Do. Not. Fucking. Put. Marmol. In.
  13. The end is nigh.
  14. Not really fair to lump Allison in with that. He wasnt a bust talent wise, he just made really poor life choices. He showed flashes when he got clean finally of what could have been. Point was potential doesn't mean anything a take someone who can work now- Alison just happened to be someone who came to mind. James was a valid point though- prep. Potential should be valued less than major league average. What was the quote in trouble with the curve? "You don't take a project with the number two pick?" Same idea. I want a house where I just have to call FPL and turn the fucking lights on.
  15. I'd take Rondon and shut him down the rest of the year. Let him know he'll be in the rotation in 2015 if his velocity is back and he has a strong spring. Let him know its not a lost year but a chance to rest his arm after what that fucking school has done to him. If everyone says he's ML ready with his FB Velo back up- I want him. None of this high ceiling bullshit with prep players (Allison, James).
  16. Neither for me- He just generally just an all around asshole to anyone he came in contact with- who believed he ate crap and pissed out gold. He was given alot of slack by the front office, especially after the Freddi incident. Fuck him.
  17. I could see the Yankees paying Hanley a boat load. You know, with Jeter's retirement and all. I don't see it happening, I think they might go a season before signing a name SS. If the marlins signed Hanley, I'd flip my shit. But then again, Hanley was Lorias boy, it could happen.
  18. The Phillies desperation to prove themselves does not change the fact that they're too old and not very good. Never underestimate the tricks old timers have up their sleeves..... I'm sure Lee, Hamels and Ruiz all have sandpaper up there.
  19. I think we have a decent shot- most of the teams in our division are dealing with injuries to their rotation (Mets/Braves) or injuries to key players (Nats), The team I'm a little concerned of is the phillies and Nats. THe phillies are desperate to prove they still have it in them despite their age, and the Nats have enough to possibly become a NL East version of the Rays.
  20. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXx5wOzWWds I kind of want them to play this at the end of every marlins win- to taunt the opposing team. This song, turn off the lights, turn on that monstrosity I like in CF. Look at it as our "New York, New York" Yankees moment at the end of games. Just play it loud as hell- maybe throw bricks of flour all over the ballpark too. AND a laser light show.
  21. How did you miss that?! Oh my god, I missed that. That is fucking horrible and reminds me of Barney and Friends. It reminds me of Wild Cards current Avatar.
  22. And if hanley leaves after this season? Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk I do believe Hanley is a Money Mercenary and will leave for the most money available.... BUT- I don't see the Dodgers getting out bid. No matter the price. They just print money in Tommy Lasorda's old office.
  23. Piazza maybe u can help me with a couple 90s uniform questions I've got . I was a fan then but I was like 11-14 years old and I can't remember some of this by now... Did the Black caps ever get used from 93-95? If so when? Cuz I know they weren't the primary home or road caps. What year did the blacks become the road caps officially or when did the teal and black road caps go away? Didn't we have a time where we wore the all teal caps at home and already used the Black caps on the road? 96 maybe? Lastly what year did the sleeves for the vests become black instead of teal? Thanks ! All guesses, but I believe I'm accurate- 93-95 the black cap was supposed to be the alternate- however it slowly moved to being worn more and more in 96- (thats when I think we wore it at home more than other caps and it was still a Road alternate). Worn with any uniform whenever, but they were supposed to be teal at home, teal black on the road. The teal/black cap was always supposed to be our road cap. 1997, the first year of Leyland, I believe they went to the black cap all the time look, and the black vest / cap became the go to uniform. I believe that was Leylands way of making his mark and showing this was a new team with newer expectations. In 1996, I think the black cap/ black undershirt was the sunday alternate, and the teal undershirt was scrapped. The more I think about it, the more I think the black became the go to cap at home in 1995. The teal and black on the road for 1993-1996, and then the all black all the time in 1997. The teal undersleves I think might have disappeared by 1996. I know by 1996, the all teal cap was gone from the rotation.
