Henry Rodriguez Designated

Dan Jennings was sent back down also. Any news on who is coming up in his place? According to Redmond it's another pitcher along with DeSclafani.

Just saw that, probably Caminero.

Glad this one didn't take as long as Marmol.

Rodriguez has no control, thus he doesn't belong on a major league roster.

Colby Suggs is probably the best relief prospect we have in the minors besides Wittgren, but Suggs is a year away from MLB ready and Wittgren hasn't earned a spot.

I seriously doubt that. Caminero can't get anyone out in AAA. His ERA is over 8. It's most likely a right handed pitcher so I'm thinking it might be Hatcher.

I'm mostly happy to see the Marlins are going through their options to see what works. Relievers are incredibly unpredictable sometimes. Lets find who can catch lightning in a bottle for this season.

Josh Spence is the guy they're calling up. Posted a ERA under 3 his first major league season with San Diego back in '11, but a bleh '12 season sent him back to the minors where he's been since. He's probably the right call for now, but he does walk too many people (not as many as Marmol/Rodriguez though).

This could be one of those diamond in the rough scenarios imo. Spence hasn't lit the world on fire in the minors the last three years, but he seems like a guy who can seize the opportunity and make the most of it. Interested to see what he has to offer.

Who's your source on Spence?

Ignore everything I said prior. It's late and I misread a rumor tweet as fact. Always read before posting is the lesson here.

Gotta feel for Jennings a bit, he's been pitching well and mostly doing what's asked. Having options must be annoying, he deserves a spot in the bullpen more than Hand does at this point.

While Henry Rod. was DFAd, Dan Jennings was optioned via marlins transactions page.

Still one spot available for 25 man roster.

Sorry, guys, I was celebrating. I was signed by the Marlins to take Dan Jennings' bullpen spot. My fastball tops out at about 67 and I have a change-up that drops to around 60-ish with a small amount of movement. I also have a hanging curveball and an inconsistent cutter. I look forward to being on this team. They're preparing to fly me out to LA now.

...

And now I've been cut for revealing the secret. Sorry, guys. :(

Yeah I dont get Jennings going down. Get rid of fucking Hand or Slowey already.

I do like how Dan Jennings does not seem to fuck around though. He has made some moves when they need to be made.

lol glad they wasted no time with Rodriguez. He is Marmol with a longer last name.

Will be interested to see their next few moves with the bullpen because we have a bunch of guys who could be transitioned from Starters to relievers but were not sure if the front office wants to do that yet. We also have a bunch of bullpenn guys who aren't ready for the majors yet so the bullpen moves will be interesting.

I know I'm a broken record but I would want to see what Desclafini and Conley bring out of the bullpen while Flynn is in the rotation. I think Conley and Flynn have proven they are MLB ready.

Why do you guys think Flynn is mlb ready? Just because he's pitched pretty poorly in a few mlb games?

He was fantastic last year in New Orleans and reportedly was tiring out at the end of the year when he got to the majors because he had never pitched that many innings.

I've already debunked that theory as 3 of his best milb starts were the 3 starts before he started in mlb. I doubt that mlb game was the threshold game that put him from being not-tired to tired. In other words, he's probably not that good.

Well, can we all at least enjoy the outlining fact that Hill and Jennings aren't rolling over on this season yet? It is only May and we're at .500... glad they aren't giving up completely.
