2013 Postseason thread
And so many people here told me they were happy he was traded. I'm sure they will say the same thing. That he wouldn't have hit this well with the marlins because he wasn't motivated or didn't care. Some other excuse. Hanley is an exceptional baseball player. The years he slumped he was injured, and it was well documented. Get over it. Hanley is taking a dump on everyones chest with ever extra base hit. Hanleys still a prick, and I'm still happy he's gone.

Free Agents for 2014
I think we trade prospects for club controlled talent. Players like Mark Trumbo come to mind. They want prospect pitching and we have a surplus of it at the moment. Trumbo at third or first instantly makes this a better lineup, even better if he sticks at third and Lomo isn't moved yet.

Ed Lucas went to Dartmouth
He also went to the same high school as my sister. Which means he is probably a super scumbag, as most people who grow up in Port Orange tend to be. Except for my sister, of course. lol I can vouch for this..... His whole tow. Is scumbags but his sisters a sweetheart. Gullible, but sweet.

Defensive stats
This one http://thecutoffman.mlblogs.com/2012/06/22/brett-lawrie-and-the-problem-with-war/ And http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=17183 Just to name a few

Defensive stats
I think it's his range that affects his ratings- I know others disagree. My opinion is he gets to balls he shouldn't get to, and it causes issues with his throwing of his put out rate. He might be better served letting a ball or two going past him and looking like a routine play for the LF and CF then a nice play for the SS. I mean, Brett Lawrie was considered the greatest defensive third baseman in MLB histor according to one of the rating systems (UZR?). Reason being, he made routine plays on the 1b side of 2b- not because of ability, but because of defensive shifts I don't think you understand how defensive metrics work.I probably don't- but I do remember an article on Brett Lawrie stating he "broke" the system with his shift plays

Loria leads fractured organization
By the way, I agree with squall 100%. Same here. Also, if Dietrich wasn't injured and Loria had blocked him from getting called up despite raking AA for his 85 ABs there then that is downright despicable and far more egregious than the Velazquez thing. The point is he's meddling with the team in ways he has no business doing. I don't get why ... can't get that through his head, but whatever85 at bats and be was raking in AA? 10/200!!!! You're clearly missing the point. Donovan Solano is our current 2b. Donovan Solano. The fact that Dietrich turned it around in AA in his last 85 ABs is at least encouraging. I'm not sold on the guy or think he's the solution, but I'd much rather see what he can do then send the .600 OPS guy out there every day who is below replacement level. Loria throwing a hissy fit cause DD quarreled with his hand picked guy is bull s*** anyway you swing it. YOUR wrong. Your clearly missing my sarcasm.

He didnt' want to call up Vailaka? Good, some of us never wanted to see him. He didn't want to call up a previously struggling at the MLB 2B' in Dietrich, good. Let him relax and get ready for 2014 and maybe the AFL. This is the first time this season I've heard Beinfest being on the hot seat, I have a feeling Jeff Passan now works for Fox. There is a difference between not calling up a guy for baseball reasons and not calling up a guy because of personal reasons. I think baseball reasons are being masqueraded around as personal reasons when the media needs it to suit their narrative.

Chris Coghlan is the Opening Day CF'er
No, there needs to be an apology. You're joking, right? I like you (as a poster, don't know you otherwise), but it's really not that big a deal. It's not like piazza is an angel, and it's not like what I said was that serious. But we should be able to be jerks. No big deal here. It's a message board, let's have a little fun and not be so serious. I wasn't joking. Your post was harsh, so I wouldn't say it wasn't that serious. But if that's how you feel, then nothing more to say. Hey, thanks for sticking up for me- but I'm content with where I am and heading in life. I've completed two degrees and have run my own businesses. I can take a fair natured ribbing as I've thrown the penguin under the bus myself a few times. It was in good fun- but thank you. It was a nice thought. Keep in mind though- this is a message board we all have been around for quite some time. I'm sure we all are used to each other by now. But thank you.

Trae Turner or Jacob Gatewood?
It's all hypothetical situations based on what we do know. That's it. Obviously nothing is in stone. And this is a "discussion forum," keyword "discussion." We've gotta talk about the future of the team, that's the only bright spot besides Fernandez this year. Well, if you want to get technical this is a minor league forum and these guys aren't even minor league players. They're hypothetical situations based majorly on a lot of things you don't know, really. Are you saying we need a Babe Ruth League forum?

If they pay players the money, I don't have a problem nor see problem with waiting. It's nice to get a discount, but sometimes you just don't k ow what you have and what can happen. Why lock yourself into a 8 year deal with a player when you don't know if hell play on the first year of the extension. Rick Dipietro is my prime example. Olympian and face of the franchise and young. Then what happened?
