We were expected to get Cespedes and almost did. I forgot why he chose the A's. I wouldn't be surprised to see Loria go after Abreu. Think of the marketing possibilities with Fernandez and Abreu appealing to the Cuban demographic. Makes too much sense. So it won't happen. I believe the difference partly was money, but also the A's gave him a fully guaranteed MLB deal which would bring him to FA faster and in his prime.
