Sunday Round Up: Sunday specials
It would be great to see Logan up soon, especially considering how well Zarate and Wolf have worked out!

If only RVH weren't so prone to the gopher ball. That's really been his problem.

Two in a row...NICE! Hanley's Magical Mystery Tour continues
jesus uggla and jacobs are screwing this game. 10 LOB between them already!

Two in a row...NICE! Hanley's Magical Mystery Tour continues
I know Cody mashes lefties, but it just seems weird to be using the highly-touted Hermida essentially as a platoon player.

Vin Scully poll
Scully was going on and on about Hanley in that series...and with good reason! The man knows his baseball!

Ricky Nolasco updates
if nolasco is not healthy enough to be a starting pitcher than dont even bother bringing him up , we have enough guys with arms problems on our team. I concur. Save him for 08, and I would like to see them shut down Rick Vanden Hurk for the rest of the year and have him ready for 08 too. Shut down Vanden Hurk? Is he hurt? I agree that Vanden Hurk might be better served by working out some of his issues in the minors (i.e., improving his third pitch, getting his curve over for strikes consistently, etc.). Unfortunately, with Kim having been basically given away, and Nolasco not being considered as a starter for the rest of the season, I'm not sure the team has that luxury. As much as I would like to see Gaby, I'm not sure it would be the wisest thing to rush him, given that he is still very young. Not like they didn't rush Vanden Hurk up. :confused Apart from really rushing someone up, be it Gaby or even Volstad, I don't know if there are a lot of good options in the minors, better than Vanden Hurk at least.

Ricky Nolasco updates
nolasco has shown that he can be a solid starting pitcher , we are in desperate need of starting pitching....so logically the marlins wlll bring back Nolasco and make him a relief pitcher :banghead I think the Marlins have decided to keep him in relief (at least for this season) in the interest of his health, as much as they would like to plug him into the rotation.

Ricky Nolasco updates
figured we could use one of these GCL: 3.1ip 4h 2r(1er) 0bb 8k FSL: 10ip 10h 3r(1er) 1bb 7k total: 1.35era getting close.. Ramp, Why do the MLB.com notes today saying that his return is still "a ways away?" It says that they are looking for consistent velocity from him. Is he not showing that in his rehab outings?

Game Thoughts- 8/10
Unbelievable how good Lee Gardner has been this season, especially since his last recall to the bigs. Not much stuff, but plenty of attitude and guile. Great to see Hermida creeping up toward .270, after his atricious start. As great as De Aza has been, I still think Hermida is a better long-term answer in the number 2 hole. De Aza is just too much of a free swinger. It's been tough to watch Uggla's BA continue to sink (and K's continue to rise). I just hope he gets into another one of his grooves again soon. It will actually been interesting to see how he does without the protection of Cabrera batting behind him. and... Hanley=Super Stud

Wednesday Roundup: Yep
Is Hickman injured or just riding the pine?

Florida Marlins @ Philadelphia Phillies
Nice to have De Aza back in the lineup after all this time and great to Willingham return from that bout with kidney stones (ouch!). Hoping for a big game from Jake to break out of this terrible slump.

Borchard DFA, De Aza up
Borchard getting DFA'ed was inevitable. Having both him and Linden was somewhat redundant, and given that Linden was swinging a decent bat since his call up, and Borchard continued to struggle, the choice was clear. It's just a sad story of unfulfilled promise. Living here in Chicago, there was a lot of hype surrounding Borchard when he was coming up through the White Sox system. Then again, such is the game of baseball: few hits, many misses.

Henry Owens?
What is he currently out with? Wasn't it a back strain and supposedly unrelated to his first stint on the DL? I certainly hope to see Henry back and healthy before the end of the season.

Florida Marlins vs. Houston Astros 8/05 1:05
Linden >> Borchard

Florida Marlins vs. Houston Astros 8/04 7:05
Crap. The inability to hit with RISP comes back to haunt us.

BK Kim gone?
F***! I'M SO ANGRY! DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG THAT BK LOGO TOOK ME?! AND I ONLY GOT TO USE IT TWICE! ...If we get, it better be someone with a good nickname... It was evident that you put a lot of work into the BK pic. I also marveled at how you got the angle of the King's head to match perfectly with the angle of Kim's body. Maybe you should use it as a sig for a while..sort of a farewell tribute to Kim.

BK Kim gone?
Yes, Rabbethan is the king of the creative pics!! Very funny.

BK Kim gone?
Can we get Petit back? :banghead :confused
-
BK Kim gone?
The Marlins should still have the option of rescinding it, right? I'm sure this is a case of the Marlins putting Kim, and probably a number of others, on waivers to see if they clear in order to explore trades. Kim has been too valuable to just let him go for nothing.

Pinto DL, KMart up
I just hope this doesn't turn out to be a season-ending injury for Pinto. He's done a really nice job this season, and was looking good of late. That being said, it will be interesting to see how K-Mart does.

The 8th Inning
Still has not had a 1-2-3 inning since Jun 19th Since then: 17 app, 13.1 inn, 3 BS, 4 L, 2.52 WHIP, 10.3 ERA, 8.93 BB/9, .338 BAA, .449 OBP, .523 SLG, .972 OPS That's almost Julio-esque...that is, back when Julio was "our guy."

The 8th Inning
Should no longer belong to Armando Benitez. This is becoming ridiculous. Definitely. Armando is not good right now. I had stepped out for the 8th inning with a feeling that Armando was going to blow the lead, and lo and behold...
