August 8, 200718 yr Welcome back De Aza. I wonder if JoBo will clear waivers. Looking forward to the return of Logan which shouldn't be far away now.
August 8, 200718 yr Good news, sorry Joe. Kensing getting back into the swing of things is good news as well.

August 8, 200718 yr Damn, part of me will miss the Angriest Man in Baseball...What can you do. Hopefully De Aza can rip it up like when he first came up.
August 8, 200718 yr Borchard getting DFA'ed was inevitable. Having both him and Linden was somewhat redundant, and given that Linden was swinging a decent bat since his call up, and Borchard continued to struggle, the choice was clear. It's just a sad story of unfulfilled promise. Living here in Chicago, there was a lot of hype surrounding Borchard when he was coming up through the White Sox system. Then again, such is the game of baseball: few hits, many misses.

August 8, 200718 yr Don't count your chickens before they hatch. what's this in reference to? Oh, you know. A lot of people are probably peeing their pants about this. De Aza has had a good debut in the majors but I'm not sold that he is our answer for a long term CF. That's all. :thumbup

De Aza's posse is all over these boards and the veins in their heads pop out when you hypothesize that De Aza isnt, in fact, an omega talented super stud supreme.

Your right... he is the Alpha AND the Omega.
August 8, 200718 yr Don't get me wrong. I AM glad to see he is back, and I do look forward to seeing what he can do - hopefully for more than a week or two this time. :cool

At least De Aza is something different than the status quo. Amezaga has done a pretty good job in center, but we know exactly what he can do already. Hopefully De Aza at least has the potential to fill a huge hole on this team. Whether he actually does or not remains to be seen. He looked pretty good in the very short time we have all seen him (spring and the first week of the year).
August 8, 200718 yr Whether he's our answer to CF or not, I'm sure we could all agree that we're glad to have him back on the team and have Borchard off of it.
