Why couldn't we have built a new version of the Roman Colosseum.That would of have been nice. only if we have david samson and norm braman fight to the death in the outfield Hah! the entire case should take place in RFK stadium, and have a few lions come out and eat the looser. :hat As far as using the idea of the Coliseum, I dont know if the enclosed look of this style stadium is the best idea. Showing the city somehow within the structure is actually nice for fans, and people watching in other states.

Yeah, I think we should all reserve judgement on this guy. Sample size is too small to tell how good he will be here. I agree that he does have more of a catcher demeanor (whatever that is), but I really could care less. Look at Vlad Guerrero; on the topic of demeanor, the guy looks like a mess at the plate, yet you can't argue with his numbers. had Rabelo continued to produce nicely, we would never have noticed his demeanor. Bottom line, I like many liked what I saw, but let's be patient. All we know is that Baker played an important part in yesterday's win. Demeanor: what I am trying to refer to is the presence that Pudge used to have for the Marlins. Obviously two leagues apart, however, Baker could instill fear to the opposition in time. Yes, it will take time for him to develop and gain respect at the MLB level, but hopefully not.

Also, his presence and demeanor seem to be more convincing than Treanor, Hoover or Rabelo. Hopefully he will get a lot of playing time. Nothing special to me. I still see Treanor as the starter when he comes back. He's been solid all year. The problem with Treanor is that he is not starting material. He is probably no better or any worse than Mike Redmond. If the bat can not compare with Uggla, Ramirez, or even Jacobs, why start Treanor? The news paper mentioned the possibility of getting Olivo back. Please NO.

The Marlins and the City and County should not settle anything with this idiot. Beat him in court so he will shut the heck up for good! Agreed. I think the only reason this idiot is going to court is to recieve a settlement. It is unlikely that this old fragile man would win in Floridas Supreme court. The county should keep bringing him to court so that he can keep paying court and lawyer fees. You do realize that the Marlins, city, and county also pay lawyer and court fees. Can the Marlins win the case? Absolutely, but the best case scenerio is a settlement. It puts this to rest quickly, and that is the most important thing right now. Your rite. But to the city and county the fees are basically microscopic, to the billionaire it is probably minimal as well. However, it would be interesting to watch him loose over a long period of time. On the other hand giving the man money is just as bad, but good so that everyone can move on.

Honestly, a community center near the park would be nice, however plans like that never happen. A five million dollar stadium in Little Havana is the best thing since the introduction of fine Cuban cuisine.

This is good news that the trial won't be delayed until September. I think we should be confident that the Marlins will win, because it's happening next week and not in September like Braman wanted. Go Marlins I agree. The fact that it is all taking place in the middle of the baseball season is probably a good thing. Hopefully that wont change. What I dont understand is why have'nt the Marlins or the city mention anything about increasing tolls to fund any additional costs???? What I do understand is that the city always finds a way to make things happen when it wants things to happen. No doubt they are going to get the stadium. Regardless of who argues or disagrees. A good idea would be to do all the building now, and let time heal any wounds/pay back any debts. Who cares about debts, most people have them.Sigh. I recommend that as you get older you attempt to keep your own debt as low as you can. Time unfortunately does not heal the wounds of debt. Time does just the opposite, in fact. Any debt that you incur, unless paid off quickly, only compounds and increases with interest each year. As for where the additional money will come from in case of cost over-runs, which are a virtual certainty. It's too early to tell. Best case, the Marlins manage to sign a construction agreement that clearly lays the liability for the cost overruns on either Hunt(the construction company), or the Marlins. That's the key, a signed,sealed , and elivered contract that addresses this issue. Otherwise, the cost overruns will somehow come out of the general operating fund of the county, and that means less quality and quantity of things like schools, emergency services, hospitals. But, for now, it's best to just hope for that construction contract to be completed at the 515 million dollar figure. Thanks.

I've been watching the news conferences from Seattle and OK City regarding the Sonics settlement for the last half hour. The press conference that the Mayor and City Commission of Seattle is not one that anyone in those positions down here wants to go through. The powers that be in Seattle dragged their feet on arena renovations for years, their owner (who I blame more than the government, by the way) ended up selling to Clay Bennett from OK City and now the team and 41 years of city history gone. The team is moving operations from Seattle starting tomorrow morning. The Mayor now has to explain why he settled a lawsuit to keep the team in town for $45mil with no guarentee of a franchise returning. The scary thing is, this can easily be the Marlins. Get shovels in the ground already and avoid this....... Once the press conferences end, I'll post the link to the videos. Can someone with the commissioners' and other officials' email addresses pass it along to show them what they absolutely do not want? Why post this thread? Miami already has enough negative things to worry about, nevermind problems in Seattle.... :notworthy

If the Marlins move to another city, that should not cause you to jump ship to another team. There is only so much one can take of the BS before one looks for something else. :shifty However, if they stay I will continue supporting. :o

Nowadays with MLB Extra Innings package and MLB.tv, A move to Pennsylvania really wouldn't take that big of a toll on your Marlin fanhood. Depending on what part of the state you live in, you can see them when they visit either the Phillies or the Pirates--or both, for that matter. Plus, you'd get to watch all the games on TV/computer. I would imagine watching games on a tiny computer screen would kinda suck, though. It would except if you are home, you hook up the computer to the tv monitor through the input and viola, big screen marlins getting the video stream. whats the point? if they dont get a stadium and move to another city, they eventually will have all new players. and by that time, many Marlins fans would probably find a new team to watch. Good thinking though.

Since the stadium won't get done because of Braman....we should name the land Braman Honda Park...dickface THE STADIUM WILL GET DONE JUST BECAUSE BRAMAN IS PART OF THIS. HE PROBABLY DOESNT REALIZE IT YET.

You know, I keep imagining the stadium having aquarium like features. Like the above poster said, the stadium would have fish-tanks, large & small, Displayed as exhibits. Within the exhibits they'd have displayed Marlins of course and other types of fishes. That would be kinda cool. Make the stadium interesting and not dry & boring. Of course field quality is most important though. I think he was referring to the "Fish Tank" in right center...... I could be wrong though. Yes "all black marlins hat", I was refering to the "Fish Tank" section in right center. Also, I am wondering if they will recreate the beach and picnic area that is in right....

Teal. Not green. Not dark navy blue. Every other ballpark and its mom has green or dark blue seats. The Marlins' color scheme of teal has always been unique. And I know some other people don't like it, but I for one liked the teal scheme at Space Coast Stadium. I'm actually thinking of something similar to what the Jacksonville Jaguars have in their stadium: And, oh yes. Definely anything but orange. Lord knows the Marlins should never be subjected to an empty orange seat ever again. I dont know if its Yankee stadium, or those blue seats at the tropicana dome, but defitnitely the wrong color for the entire stadium. Maybe small areas for private suites - seating.

What color do you want the seats to be? Upper deck seating - orange (color of the roof's of homes in Miami) Outfield and Box seats - light teal/turqoise (original color of Marlins hat) Expensive lower box seats - white with Marlins teal arm rests and beer holders Wall padding - same as the color in Dolphin Stadium (no other team has it) or if they include an Orange Bowl section - I would like to see at least those seats orange. Eventhough the color of the seats should not matter, it should matter - because when a picture of the park shows up on googleMaps or on a calender, the colors should represent s.florida and the team. Since seats have to be purchased and ordered before they are installed, someone ought to order the right ones.. :banghead no dark green. dark green represents the green-monster-infection of the bleacher seats at Fenway. no blue. blue seats resemble Yankee stadium or some other team other than the Marlins. In fact, any dark color seat would probably be to hot for this part of the world. The color of the seats should be a NO-brainer.
