  1. This contemptible collapse will not soon be forgotten. Winston Churchill
  2. Bookend 4-19 stretches to begin and end the season. Takes some doing.
  3. Burn it down. Pitching is worse than on our 100 loss teams.
  4. Bour wasn't missed. Moore' 150 BA and 2 RBI's in 50 games more than picked up the slack. ?
  5. Worse than the 4-19 stretch earlier in the year?
  6. The team has lost its desire to even try. Far easier just to be overwhelmed and get the game and season over with. The grim reaper is getting ready and it's getting easier not to even care any more.
  7. Apart from G and Ozuna HR's, the wild pitch has become a crucial part of our offense. Sad when you think about it.
  8. If it was Ziggy in the 9th it would have been 11-10.
  9. 11-10 we all know it's coming.
  10. Stanton 1-18 in this stretch and the team absolutely goes in the tank. At least we've got our staff ace, ha ha. Going belly up like this against the Phils is unforgivable. It'll be an interesting off season, at least Loria will be gone. Ready for football. Go Gators.
  11. The 4-19 team from earlier this year has shown up at just the right time. The way the team is playing, fundamental fuck up baseball and sleep walking at the plate., 050 BA with RISP this losing streak will go on for quite some time.
  12. Peters was great. Hope the pen can hold it for him.
  13. Team looks completely rattled. Was looking forward to a wild card chase but this one is over befote it started. Nats will preside over the official burial when they come in next week.
  14. What a funk this team is in, and it's everyone. I guess the hope is Peters can win a 1-0 game.
  15. Bags loaded JT is a mess.
  16. I too would rather unload Prado and keep Dee. Just think, though, that Prado after missing most of the season and getting up there in age is going to be super hard to unload without kicking in an exorbitant percentage of his salary. Dee on the other hand is younger, would probably fetch more, and not have to pay as much in salary out. No matter what you all think about his OPS, he's still hitting around 300, getting on base at a somewhat decent rate and fields his position well. He'd be an attractive piece for more than a few teams.
  17. Anderson's success at 3rd is critical. Would be okay to move Prado to 2nd next season and trade Dee where there is more salary relief and a better chance to unload him. Dietrich has proven in his stint that he doesn't have what it takes to play every day. Having him be the utility backup at 1st, 2nd and 3rd remains fine. He needs to go to 1st until Bour returns. Telis and Moore need to go on vacation this month. Hope its the last we see of them.
  18. Brewers are doing what we should have been doing. G doesn't start hitting some dongs again soon they'll be too far ahead to catch as well. The Tellis/Moore combo is the festering infection that, having been continuously left untreated, is now killing the patient. Antidote may be on its way to arrive in 2 weeks, after the funeral.
  19. Looks like a shaken team. Obliteration in DC blew the lead off.
  20. RISP disease. Nice also that Bour's spot in the lineup was filled to the tune of a 170 BA with an OPS that has to less than 300. Losing him was devastating.
  21. Dispiriting performance in DC, but in truth they really had no chance of winning that series, so they lost an extra game over what was hoped for. Considering the Rockies were at home, and the Marlins had to face one of the top three teams in the game at their ball park, I'll take losing only one game in the standings to them. The key is whether they can right the ship right away against the Phillies. Looks like Peters will be going on Friday. At least we now know it will be the Rockies who the chase will be on to run down. The DBacks are on a tear and with Greinke, Ray and Corbin their pitching is too good for them to slide. So the hope is that they dominate the Rockies in their head to head and that the Dodgers get Kershaw and Bellinger back in time to take it to the Rockies as well. The Brewers have a challenging schedule and one has to hope the Nats go in there and do to them what they just did to us, though I'm sure it won't be in such dominating a fashion (as I would expect the Brewers at a minimum to show a pulse.....we didn't in DC). So lets keep hope alive.
  22. Taken to the woodshed and we've got to see them again next week. Our luck we'll see Gio, Scherzer and Strasberg. Dragging their limp dicks home, let's see if the team rebounds. If Baker rides his big 3 to where he resists the temptation to go to the bullpen after 7, pitch count be damned, Nats can and should win the whole thing. Only their bullpen can fuck them up.
  23. 1-21 RISP gets you swept.
  24. They've performed despicably in this series in a boys against men kind of way. Totally dominated but still going home most likely only 5.5 out. Hope they can right themselves against the Phils.
  25. Helpless feeling. We'll pay for this in the bottom half of this inning too.
