  1. Rooting for Yelich triple crown. If for thanks the Brewers were simply content to send a fruitbasket, if I were Hill I’d be disappointed. Fuckin joke.
  2. The Stanton and Ozuna performances were only subpar when compared to last years superlative performances . Otherwise they were fine and very much in line with career performance. What continues to be subpar is the Marlins system. Especially position player wise. Marlins very badly need VV. Getting my hopes up.
  3. None of those teams you named had players the quality of Yelich, Stanton and Ozuna and a mid 70s win record when they demolished their team. Hard to get over that Marlins had one of the best position lineups in the NL but because their pitching sucked the team got blown up. Now they suck everywhere and I don’t see any potential difference makers anywhere in their system.
  4. Its not horse shit. No team in the history of the game has ever traded (given) away from a WAR standpoint the quality of players the Marlins did for as minute a return as the Marlins got. That's just a fact. No surprise at all that all those players traded away are ballin for their new teams.
  5. This was the last franchise that could have afforded to have another wrecking ball taken to it, even before the season began (I agreed with Stanton's plea for that reason), but the MLB owners couldn't have given two shits about it. For the front-line talent that Jeter traded away, the team got at most a D+ return. I agree with the sentiments of the author, as far as the franchise having no credibility with anyone. Regrettably, for the short, medium and long term the future of this team at the moment is looking pretty dismal. I'm a bit of an old-timer so I can't wait until 2024 to hope things turn around.
  6. Bring Brinson back. But then what can be more fun that seeing whether Sierra or the great Yadiel Rivera can ever hit the ball out of the infield. Miracles do and can happen. Truly inspirational stuff.
  7. Hard to see the Braves, Phils or Nats losing a game to this team as presently constituted and given how they are playing. 100 losses easily doable. Don’t see JT willing to endure more years of hopelessness with this team. Trade returns from the fire sale of all star talent virtually all suck.. Front office inspires zero confidence, Loria no longer being the face of it brings no brownie points. It’s Jeter’s folly.
  8. Sure. But there is nothing about a 41-57 record that is worth feeling good about. Don't really care how they got there.
  9. Brinson continues to look like a sad sack of shit at the plate. Marlins deserved this loss.
  10. Needed an HR from Realmuto to win. Double wasn’t going to cut it.
  11. As usual the Marlins has turned the art of hitting ground ball dribblers into an art form.
  12. Brinson is just brutal to watch. As brutal as watching Chen pitch. Here comes the Chen blowup.
  13. I commented on Alcantara (and Guzman) being Ureña 2.0 when they traded for him. Nothing has changed. Starting rotation remains a dumpster fire.
  14. JTs catching has never been the problem. It’s the pitching.
  15. Chen at Coors you just have to look away.
  16. I'd love to see JT willing to sign with the team long term, but frankly the case to be made for optimism based upon the "pitching prospects" JT has caught to date is very underwhelming. The team pitching has sucked and there's no two ways around it. I'd also hate to be betting the farm on the mediocrity that exists in the minor league system. The trade returns were meh. Others may feel differently but to me Niedert and Alcantara don't inspire.
  17. That 5-17 start was largely accomplished with the hall of fame tandem of Chad Wallach and Bryan Holaday doing the catching and hitting a combined BA of about 100. With JT in the lineup this ragamuffin roster has performed close to a 500 team, which is an amazing feat.
  18. Good win. On pace to lose 100. Team sucks big time but 3 legit all star candidates.
  19. Rich and Tommy were just an A+ crew. As horrific as the Marlins are and will be for the foreseeable future, at least we had the memories. Nice to see Tommy resurfacing, even if it’s for pre and post game chatter.
  20. Clear as day they're not expecting JT to re-sign and will trade him (for the typical underwhelming return) probably during the off season.
  21. Is the possible for the Marlins to be any less competitive?
  22. I have nothing but contempt for this team because as bad as they are there is no commitment to even trying to win. Continually running out a very hittable washed up pathetic Ziegler in the 9th tells me.all I need to know that this team doesn’t give a shit.
  23. They faced a good team on the road and got hammered, which is no surprise in the slightest. One competitive game out of three with the Cubs is really the most one could have hoped for. Too bad they lost it. If only the Cubs had kept their minor league hasbeen of a SP in there a few more innings.
  24. Amid all the good feelings, on pace to lose 100 as most have predicted. And yet there are 5 teams that are worse than us. Pitching at home has been pretty good. But cant hit anywhere. Nice that team can win 2-1 games.
