  1. so miller threw 17 balls out of 30 pitches in that inning? Oh boy.
  2. How bad where the umps? I just got home and i say the game went final on ESPN. Who did good who did bad, who f***ed everything up? 2 brutal calls both by first base ump. 2nd one cost us at least a tie.
  3. Okay, *calms down* Umps are dumb Offense is dumb What do we need to do to win a game? Pay the umps? What's so dumb about the offense? We scored the average runs, got a good number of base runners, and got screwed on two ridiculously important calls. yes we got screwed on those, but our pitching still gave up 6 runs and we are absolutely horrible hitting with risp. what was it, like 0 for 10?
  4. Might is not the same as is. Never said it was. So then you believe there is 0 chance that he is injured? I don't think he's injured, but a player who is less than a year removed from major surgery having a sudden lost of control isn't exactly good signs. The cause could be multiple things, but I find it ridiculous to completely ignore injury just because the FO says so (because they're sooo good at diagnosing pitcher injures). like some have mentioned, the strike zone today was extremely small to start. JJ was definitely hitting some borderline pitches early on and his speed was fine. My take on it is he just got rattled, and simply needed the 5th inning to pull everything together. He then would of had a 1-2-3 5th on 8 pitches and and 1-2-3 6th on 9 pitches. The game still ties, would of then been broken open by a cantu 3 run homer which the fish go on to win 6-3. THANKS FREDI!!! I thought he should've been left in, but this is just looking at best case scenario, which was extremely unlikely, especially considering the way he was unlike himself today. He could've given us another inning, though. i know i know...all meant in jest!!

  6. I have read official confirmation that JJ is NOT injured. then fredi has a lot of explaining to do. he is our ace and only had 82 pitches. no reason whatsoever for him not to pitch another. He threw more balls than strikes. That's a reason. He had no command of any pitches and even his offspeed stuff were breaking less. That's a reason. You can disagree with the reasoning but to say there was no reason is ridiculous. fine there is a reason, but a terrible one

  8. brewers are a good team. we are a bad team. this is what happens when good teams play bad teams. Also, the bone(ifacio)head plays don't help either.
  9. yeah um...this team has gone in full meltdown mode.
  10. 4 pitch walk? come on JJ
  11. these games are deja-vu... marlins get a lead then give it up then procede to go quietly until marlins lose. LETS CHANGE IT UP HERE!!!!
  12. we are a very bad team right now....all around Come on, JJ hasn't been bad at all. i was more referring to cantu's play...but i think all around, except maybe hanley, JJ and volstad, we have been very bad That was a tough play on Jorge. Not that Jorge hasn't also been very good this year. tough play, but one he needs to make! we're only down 1...let's get it back here!!!

  15. Fredi's obsession with starting a left handed pitcher is getting really obnoxious. Put Badenhop in already. His stuff is definitely better than anything koronka had tonight and certainly far better than taylor. enough is enough!!
  16. DVH is saying it was actually a good call He tagged him but the ball popped out on the tag. that still counts as a tag... like when you drop the ball on the transfer for a double play, the guy is still out at 2nd base it wasn't a transfer. he was not reaching for the ball with his right hand. he was safe.
  17. he was out... he dropped the ball...
  18. i was at the game on monday, and by the crowd recation, one would of thought they had just won the world series! mets fans are also very sensitive. cheering for the other team makes them sad and they take it very personally. i was once told to "stand up" because "you're in shea stadium" after a mets home run once, even though i was decked out in fish gear. Mets fans are the worst!
  19. If by quality stuff you mean a flat fastball and a slider he cant throw effectively...so just a fastball then. Lindstrom's fastball was electric last year and his slider worked well. I 100% agree this year both have been completely flat and ineffective. I attribute this to his injury, but I believe he will recover and regain what he had last year. However, he should of never of been in the closing role until he was 100%. This is on management.
  20. folks, lindstrom has quality stuff. The fact is, he's not ready to be closing games yet. He was injured and it clearly shows. I blame this on management for not recognizing that lindstrom is injured, and still putting him in critical situations. Nunez and Calero both have the stuff to close games. It's not like our bullpen is in desperate need of a closer. It's just silly they put him in to close before he was 100%. Poor management.
  21. i have no problem with matt being the guy (he was awesome end of last year) but the dude has been INJURED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he should be FULLY recovered until he is allowed to close games. He has looked horrible all season thus far. Let him show that he is full recovered before you put him in, otherwise you hurt the team as seen by tonight, and almost during the other save he blew (which the fish came back to win).
  22. Kiko has my vote. He came into a tough situation and performed beautifully. He then followed it up with a nice inning. Great move by Fredi to put him in.
  23. hi guys, my first post here, so first off, hello! Now, with all these discussions of whether spring training really matters, I was wondering if anyone had anyone recalled how the fish did last year during spring training?
