  1. How about Uggla going 0-4 with 4 runners lob. He is 2-15 last five games with 9 runners lob.
  2. For the first time in his career, Chris Volstad allowed more than 4 earned runs. He had allowed 4 runs four times in his 28 games. Today he gave up 6 earned runs to the Cardinals Is having a game like this good for his development or is it a setback? He's needs to regain that command he had last year as he is leaving plenty of pitches up usually because he is behind in the count. Did you see has last two starts prior to tonight?
  3. Cardinals 13 Marlins 4 10 runners left on base

  5. Coming into Tuesday's MLB draft, the Marlins were looking to bolster their pitching prospects. They did just that when they selected LHP Chad James out of Yukon High School in Oklahoma with the 18th overall pick. Before the draft, the Marlins let it known that they were going to take the best player available. They felt that 6'3, 205 lb James was it. Chad James went 9-1 with a 1.36 era his this past year. During his first varsity start as a freshman against Shawnee High School, James threw a no-hitter. He is currently committed to Oklahoma State University. James has 3 pitches - Fastball, Curve and Change-up - but is mixing in a slider to his arsenal. His fastball ranges from 91-93 mhp( an increase of 10 mhp from his freshman year). "I was talking to my brother about it and decided it would be good to add,? James said about adding the slider. "I like the movement it gives me.? The last high school pitcher the Marlins drafted in the first round was Chris Volstad in 2005. Miami Sports Generation
  6. Coghlan lf, Bonifacio 3b, Ramirez ss, Cantu 1b, Hermida rf, Uggla 2b, Baker c, Ross cf, Johnson rhp They should of put Hermida in left and gave Carrol another start after yesterdays performance. Plus St. Louis has 4 lefties in the line up today. We all know Carrol is better defensively
  7. MiamiSportsGenerationI mean consistently on a year to year basis. Fair enough. What we both know is If he does pitch like he did last year, It will be a HUGE boost to our starting rotation. And I hope he does.
  8. I agree with Erick. I'm still not sold on West and Miller. I would feel alot more confident If Nolasco goes back to his 2008 form. I'm not sold on the Nolasco of 2008. He only pitched 5 games in 07 and went 11-11 in 06. I would like to see some consistency. He's not showing it this year. He was f*cking great in 2008. He had the second lowest WHIP behind Worldseries MVP Cole Hamels. He pitched 200+ innings. He struck out 186 batters and only walked 42 batters. He had a 3.52 ERA. That's not the crazy part, though. He was ASS in April. After that, he DOMINATED! He got better every month. Last year was not a fluke my friend. He was dominated, and he can still be dominate. At no time did I say it was a fluke. I didn't say he doesn't have the stuff to be great. All i'm saying is he needs to be consistent. He pitched great on Sunday. I would like to see more of that before calling him an Ace. He pitched like an Ace last year consistently. I mean consistently on a year to year basis.
  9. I trust in West. I believed that he was rushed, but the fact that he has limited his walk total, which was a big thing with him, add to the fact that he has shown poise that I haven't seen a minor league callup for this team since Volstad was called up, and I believe he is going to be a permanent fixture in this rotation. I wasn't sold on Nolasco back in October, you can find old posts of me and a few others debating about the JJ vs Nolasco argument. I'm rooting for Ricky to get back to his old self, but again I would like consistancy with him. I've seen too many pitchers have great seasons then fade off into oblivion. I.E. Carl Pavano. One good year

  11. Helms didn't do any better than Bonifacio offensively but at least he didn't commit any errors. Way to go Helms!

  13. It shouldn't even be a question to bring back Anibal until after the All-Star break. They rushed him back once I hope they don't do it again.
  14. What happens when Anibal gets healthy and West is performing? What if he is 7-2 at the time? Are we going to just sit him down or put Anibal on the back burner?
  15. I don't expect anymore from West than what he's giving, for now at least. He is doing a great job. He does have a no hitter going into to the sixth tonight.
  16. in case anyone is interested heres a story on the starting pitchers Marlins Starting Pitchers Stablelizing
  17. The Marlins starting pitchers have been getting into form. They have been getting deeper into games and taking a load off the bullpens shoulders. How far do you think they can take us?
  18. Yes, actually, I do. What exactly are people saying about Bonifacio that is wrong? IMO A reasonable person would have asked that question first, before getting smarmy. I was replying to the last sentence of the post that I quoted (what a concept!): that he is the worst starter in the MLB and that it is not even close. Stats put him towards the bottom of the league in many, if not all categories, but he is not last in any of them, let alone by a wide margin. He leads the Majors in Errors. That would make him last in that category
  19. Hopefully one day we will come from behind in the 9th to win the game. Game would of been tied in the Ninth if it wasn't for the error by you know who.
  20. Johan Santana - Rule 5 draft Even thou he was instantly traded to the Twins for Jared Camp
  21. I thought we were going to pull that one through.
  22. For the second time this series Bonifacio goes 0-4. He finished the series 3 for 16 (.187). He is 9 for 43 in his last 11 games (.183). When is Freddi going to make the move? He is so bad, I aint gonna say anything about him. I think we should get everyone to sign a petition and send it to the Organization.
