For the second time this series Bonifacio goes 0-4. He finished the series 3 for 16 (.187).

He is 9 for 43 in his last 11 games (.183). When is Freddi going to make the move?

I would still like him in the lineup but try him in the 8th spot with Baker batting 2nd(he seems to hit so much better with Hnaley behind him)

If Boni continues to struggle in the 8 spot then give Helms more starts at 3B and maybe Amezega can give some production when he's healthy.

I'm suprised they havn't giving Helms more playing time. Maybe even put Cantu in 3rd for a couple of games and put Gload at first. Give Bonifacio some time off or ship him down. They didn't wait this long with Maybin.

I really don't think he should be in the lineup, but we don't have anyone to replace him. Helms shouldn't be an everyday starter...I guess we could give the spot to Amezega, but I would prefer it if he primarily was a bench player. Gaby just can't get healthy soon enough. And even then, we don't know how long it will take him to get back to normal. I guess I agree with MSG in moving Cantu back to third and starting Gload at first.

I was at Jupiter and saw Sanchez hitting live and he looked realy good ,was told

Sanchez will be playing with New Orleans Saturday his ready.

He will be playing for Nola on Saturday? Wow, if that's true then maybe we can stick with the current starting lineup and then if Sanchez continues to put up solid numbers, then we make the inevitable move and call him up and put him on 1st and Cantu over at 3rd. If that were to happen, Hallelujah!

Lets trade the ML startign lineup, and get the AAA Starting lineup up.

Gotta keep that speed in there.

What's the point of keeping the speed in there if he's not getting on base? .298 OBP

He was being facetious. That's become the rally cry of us who are getting sick of seeing him, especially leading off.

That was a joke...

Now then we'd be talking. I really hope that is what the team is planning as I just can't imagine them being incompetent to be doing anyhting but biding their time until we can get a legitimate hitter for 1B and move Cantu back. Cantu was by no means a great defender but he was still much more steady than Bonifacio, and even though he made some errors he still made plays that third basemen should make most of the time and Bonifacio doesn't/

after may cantu was actually quite solid at third and if we could get gaby sanchez and send boni to AAA to work on his game then no problem with that.

as long as sanchez doesnt perform like he did in spring.

If Cantu could play better defense at 3rd than he does, I would move him there and put Gload at 1st.

He wouldn't be much worse than Bonifacio has and he has the track record of actually being decent at times.

Gload is a bench bat. Nothing more. He'd be over his head as a starter after a while.

He's not struggling, he's just playing to his ability.

Yawn. Bonifacio was on base 3 times on Wednesday but of course no one mentions that.

Whilst Chris "Saint" Coghlan continues to light up the majors.

I really don't think he should be in the lineup, but we don't have anyone to replace him.

Coghlan (at 3b)

Helms (at 3b)

Gload (at 1b w/Cantu at 3b)

So, you agree - we don't have anyone to replace him. Least of all a rookie with a .200 BA.

YEH! One good game in the past week! You go Bonifacio!

Someone produced a good stat, I think in the Game Thread last night showing how Coghlan had been far better than Bonifacio when it mattered, with guys in base.

My solution once again - Coghlan to 3B, Hermida to LF, Gload to RF

Well done. You've mentioned it.

When did Coghlan last have a good game? Do we get loads of threads demanded his removal or decapitation? Nope. Both guys are 24. Both guys are struggling. Both guys are in their first year as a day-to-day player. The only difference is Coghlan has looked much better in the minors. But that can mean diddly-squat when it comes to the bigs.

I'm not saying Bonifacio is a good player, as currently he is not and it seems unlikely he ever will be. I am saying though that the amount of flak he gets on here is disproportionate and undeserved.

That's the downside of baseball, you can prove anything that you want to prove if you dig up the right stats. Bonifacio either scores or drives a run in every 0.192 plate appearances. Coglan either scores or drives in a run every 0.174 plate appearances.

You could probably prove that Jorge Julio is a currently a better pitcher than Zach Greinke with the right stat(s).
