Cardinals 13

Marlins 4

10 runners left on base

Terrible game all around.

Crappy defense, Pitchers leaving the balls fat over the plate, and meh situational hitting especially Hanley letting a fastball go right down the middle with the bases loaded.

Hopefully Andrew has a strong start tomorrow and the offense sparks up a few runs.

Not sure what HanRam was thinking on that pitch. As Tommy said, that was the turning point of the game. Obviously, if the Cards were going to score that many runs, it wouldn't matter, but you never know what would have happened if Superstar came through.

How about Uggla going 0-4 with 4 runners lob.

He is 2-15 last five games with 9 runners lob.

Season's over...not!

We'll win tomorrow.

He's having the worst season of his career so far Slugging and OPS wise but has a higher OBP.

We need him and John Baker to get back to form if we want to start producing more runs per game or we will be going no where fast.

Great hitting all around and Volstad did a great job of not allowing runs immediately after we scored. :|

I personally can track this game going totally downhill after Hanley looking at a f*cking fastball right down the middle with bases loaded. That is absolutely unexcusable, and Fredi SHOULD go up to him, get in his face and tell him that at the major league level you can't do that, ever. But hey, w/e, its not the end of the world. After this we get to play the AL East, sounds like a lot of fun :(

UMMMMMMMM NO!

I can't even count how many times i've seen batters take that pitch with RISP and 2 outs. It's a mistake that should not be made in the major league level yes, but baseball players are human and can't do everything right. He should get fired up for tomorrow and bomb one in his first At bat.

UMMMMMMMM YES!

It doesn't happen alot in the majors, period. You see them go down swinging, you don't stand there with bases loaded and take a pitch right down the middle. After moments like that the manager has to remind the player that it is his job to get him in, and he needs to get up in his face for not doing his job.

Yes, people are human, but this is a business, when you don't do your job, the boss needs to rip into you for it. Hanley is the face of the franchise right now, so what he does reflects on the rest of the team. Fredi needs to take control of this team and show that he doesn't stand for bullsh*t like taking a fastball right down the middle with bases loaded.

I didn't get to watch the game, where did the two errors come from and did they influence our terrible night?

Uggla made low throw to Hanley on a double play ball and Martinez made a bad throw to Uggla at first on a bunt.

Completely agreed. He's now hitting .500/.400/1.250 with bases loaded, like a bum. What happened sucks, but it happens, to all-stars and bench players. Sucks.

Uggla made low throw to Hanley on a double play ball and Martinez made a bad throw to Uggla at first on a bunt.

And Bonifacio made what was easily an error but somehow it got scored a double.

Yeah but he didn't get a glove on it so it's issued as a doubled and an Earn Run for Volstad.

Yeah, that was pathetic.

I could honestly make that play.

Somehow I knew he was involved. Thanks for clearing that up. I will continue hating him.

So why is Christian Martinez still on this team?

I could honestly make that play.

He might have been a great bullfighter.

Yep, looked pretty silly on that all or nothing play. But that's what can be expected from a player learning a new position. Kinda like Cantu last year getting almost all of his errors in the first half of the season. Have Andy talk with him, tell him what he did wrong. (At least get a glove on it and knock it down to keep it a single instead of a double, because it was at least an IF hit. Hit hard, and a good batter's bounce.) I would complain more if he were, say, a veteran OFer looking real silly missing a routine pop fly at the wall. Again.

Funny how no one has commented on the rest of his night. Hit, Ribbie, walk, run scored, and in the first was able to move Coghlan into scoring position for Hanley to knock in. Sooooo...He was directly involved in 3 of the 4 runs. Actually, he's been moving runners over pretty consistently lately by keeping the ball on the ground one way or another. Dosen't show up on his stat sheet, but it does on the scoreboard where it really matters if the 3 and 4 hitters do their job. We should be seeing more hit and runs at the top of the order.

Terrible night because he went for broke on one play. Hang the bum. Not really sticking up for him. Just showing the other side of the coin that for some reason is constantly ignored.

Note to Hanley.....A real superstar dosen't need to announce himself as such 4 or 5 times a game. He just goes out and shows it. Lose the intro song. Basically, it's an embarassment. Even more so when said superstar watches a beachball go past for the 3rd strike with 2 outs and the bases loaded.

Good thing Hanley wasn't around when "Hair" was popular.

I could honestly make that play.

He might have been a great bullfighter.

Quality stuff right there. :lol

And he'd have a great name for it. #1 Matador, Emilio Bonifaaaaaaaaaaaaacio!

Hanley only has 6 extra base hits since May 15th.
