Marlins dumping big names?
I'm one of those who has been harsh with him, and quite frankly I still think he's been disappointing. I also believe he's not a keeper, we'll see.

10/2 Post Game
Terrific game by the fish. Vandenhurk did a great job, so did the pen. Cantu: 99 RBIs, Maybin: 4-3, Cogs: Unstoppable. All and all, I'm happy with the team.

Will CC win ROY?
It's hard for me to believe the writers don't know enough about CC whether he's on nat TV or not, I mean, how can you be a sports writer and be so misinformed? I think he'll make it.

9/30 Post Game
ATL almost out of it. YEEEEEESSSSS!!!! There's God! :whistle Go Rockies! (Uggghhh! never thought i'd say that) But we'll have to see the Phillies in the playoffs for a third consecutive year. True but I rather see that than the Braves in the playoffs. I really despise the Braves.:mad

Donnelly as our closer the rest of the way ?
Baseball is still played that way in Cuba. Not that this is relevant to the thread, considering things are a bit different here in the States (a lot of it having to do with the money, believe it or not), but what you stated was not only fact...it still is fact. Of course I'm aware of the differences, and yes, it has a lot to do with money but seriously, the Marlins lost a lot of games that could've been won because of that philosophy of babysitting the pen which on one hand exposes the starters to a helluva punishment with its consequences, (There you have Volstad) and on the other have ruined (Then again) many possible victories much needed now. Even from a business point of view, I might be wrong, but I think winning is good for business as opposed to losing, and I'm not sure that is a priority here. One way or another I'm hurting for the fish. I think these kiddos are much better than this, and I also believe that they deserved a better management. Maybe next year... or not. I was just agreeing with what you had said. Baseball is still played that way in Cuba, and I often like watching it because of the way it is played. Managers don't play around, there. Anibal Sanchez, for example, would've never lasted 5 innings last night, had he been pitching in Cuba. Especially now that it's September and we have like 3 or 4 long relievers in the pen...that never would've happened. However, players here are paid money and have agents, which kind of ruin that. Did i give you the impression that I was not agreeing with you? If that's the case I'm sorry, I was.

Donnelly as our closer the rest of the way ?
This is how I see it, and I believe many may not like it: (Bite me then ) Even though I'm not a stat freak I don't see anything wrong with that. First and foremost baseball is (Correct me if I'm wrong) the richest sport as far as stats, there are statistics for every godam thing in baseball! Besides, playing or managing not based on stats is plain dumb. Yes, I agree the closer role is "relatively new" as well as the 100 pitches count sh*t, not to mention that role is also (imho) overrated. Lets not forget when starters used to pitch 9 or more innings, when any reliever could (An did) close, and most of all when pitchers were not treated like pansies. I might be too old, because I remember when all that happened. True that I didn't grow up watching MLB, but in the baseball I grew up watching a started was pulled out even in the first inning if necessary, managers used to send not one, but two pitchers to warm up at the first sign of serious trouble, (Notice that I said first sign, not when the team was 6 runs behind) I even saw a 3B man (Lazaro Vargas) pitching because the manager ran out of pitchers. I had a friend named Pedro Chavez, one of the best managers (Former player) of the Cuban baseball, he used to say "win today, then think about tomorrow" as opposed to "well, you have to try to keep the starter there (And he's getting massacred) for as long as possible because the pen's been overused" Should I add "even if it cost us the game(SSSSSSSSSS)"? The many "S" are on purpose. I've seen men pitching with blisters, swollen hands, back pain, muscle pain, you name it, with a no-whining philosophy and a great deal of balls because if you were not good enough to be there then you should have been a bus driver or else, and God knows it wasn't even for money. It pisses me off when I hear that this or that reliever can't pitch 6 or 7 innings a week because the poor little thing will be too tired by the end of the season. WTF are they payed for? After all, even with the lower payroll these guys make much more money than most of us can even dream on making. Whatever happened to baseball? I miss it. It stopped been a game to become baseball, Inc.

9/23 Post Game
What an awesome performance tonight! Even though I know we need a miracle I don't want to stop believing. These last two games were pure freaking magic. Whether the miracle happens or not the team does not give up, neither will I. No matter what the outcome, there's one thing I'd like to see: That we beat the crap out of the Braves. :thumbup

Loria on the new uniforms
Well, at least now we know where Loria has his head. I think Loria should have better things to do for the Marlins than changing the team's color scheme, however it seems to be a big deal for him. I believe there's nothing wrong with the teal, black, and silver, (Which I really like) and I can't imagine the fish wearing any other color(s). NO ORANGE PLEASE!!!!! (Just in case)

Jesus Uggla!!!!!!! :banghead Jesus what? Sure, I wish he had made the play to second but he saved the runner from going to 3rd with an amazing diving stop. C'mon Rab, are you going to deny that was a sh*tty throw?

I don't know how they did bunts in Washington but NJ is always out of position here. Uggla should have gone to first though. Uggla didn't have time to go to first. That was the play nonetheless.
