Now is the perfect time.
Mets are worse. Any team in 1st place from New York is bad. True. I rank my "hates" in the NL East as such : 1) NY Mets - fans are the worst, even worse than Yankee fans 2) Braves - it took us 15 seasons to finally finish ahead of them in the division - and I can't stand that Matty Diaz - he always kills us and then you get that smug smirk on his face. I wanna just punch him when I see it ! 3) Phillies - obnoxious fans just like the Mets but not as bad

What would your plan be for 2012 ?
Since things haven't gone as well as planned this year, I guess this has changed the managements plans for 2012. If you were Mr Loria, what would you be asking that needs to be done in order to make next year a stepping stone for the Big 2012 Stadium Opening ?

Now is the perfect time.
The main difference in my opinion is that Morrison has had about a month of game experience in LF if he does get called up this season while Coghlan had 0 games in his entire Minor League career in the OF. Coghlan has been taking groundballs in the IF at both 3rd and 2nd in practices so i don't expect him to be rusty. The main thing here is that both Coghlan and Morriosn will be familiar with their positions rather then throwing them out there blindly with no clue what they're doing. I don't expect gold glove defense but they should be able to provide respectable numbers defensively and then we know that both of them can stoke at the plate and are pretty much the same kind of hitter with Logan having more Gap to gap power. Source/link? I don't have a source or link but I've seen video of it on Marlins on Deck (or Marlins Live, whatever the call it now) and heard them mention it. Sooo....Uggla is safe? If Cogs is also taking IF at 3rd during practice? If the Marlins can't turn things around this homestand...we can take solance in the Phillies not being that great this year.:lol Yeah but the even more hated Bravo's are in 1st place. I like that even less ! :mad

7/16 Post Game
I love all the positive remarks... It's been one f***ing game since the All Star Break and we had the luck of facing one of the hottest pitchers in the league and since we lost the season is lost or we are suddenly the Royals, Pirates or Orioles? Seriously grow the f*** up. We are only 10.5 games back in the division with 3 big games coming up against the division leader and we are 7 games back of the wild card leader in Colorado who we also play next series. If we take the next 2 in this series then take two in the Colorado Series and 2 in the Braves series we could be withing 6 games of the division and 3 games of the Wild Card. I will not give up on the season with an entire 71 games left and a current home stand of 9 games. J.J. will give us the win tomorrow and we will spark offensively Sunday to give Sanabia his 1st career win and then we make our move on Colorado which probably will start with a loss against Ubaldo but we could take the last two from them with solid pitching from Nate against all of the Rockie left handed hitters and then Ricky will have to go on that shutdown mode we all know he has giving him momentum into an early must win series at home versus Atlanta. There's no doubt that all of this can happen and the Marlins can make a run, we just need to believe and continue rooting for our team whether on T.V. or at Sun Life because much crazier things have happened in this game. :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy Yes sir ! Now that's the right attitude ! You Glum Bums around here need to cheer up and start believing again ! :thumbup

Josh Johnson At Coral Square Mall
Seems like the Marlins are responding to the Miami Heat already. Two autograph signings this close after the Heat dazzles one and all. Good for us. Maybe this Heat thing was a kick in the behind the Marlins management needed to start the drive towards wowing us as the stadium opening nears. I wonder if they will do one in Miami-Dade County soon, as that will soon be the Marlins home. (are the corporate offices in Miami-Dade or Broward right now ?)

Marinez threw one pitch. So glad we called him up. And yeah, I hope no one is too surprised when we're in last place. Now c'mon Mr. Negative, get your britches out of a wad. :mad We're gonna win tomorrow and it sparks our drive to the playoffs :thumbup

7/16 Post Game
I didn't expect much of a win versus The Phenom. This still is a series and we can definitely take the last two games, tomorrow we should tie the series and let's hope Sanabia can give us 5 or 6 solid inning or at least a Quality Start to give us a chance to win the game. Not jumping on the seller wagon yet but we need to win the next 3 or 4 series if we want to stay in contention. Now thats the right attitude ! We aren't done yet. Lets Go Fish ! It is the right attitude and I believe in it... but this team just hasn't shown that they can even win the next 3 or 4 series, period. Thats why nobody thinks we can do this, the 2010 team doesnt have the proven track record of winning when it has to. Well JJ's win tomorrow will spark us ! Don't give up yet !

Well while it's true that Strassburger...and I'll continue to call him that because I can never remember how to spell his real name...did pitch pretty well not to give up a run, the Marlins did give him a fight and made him pitch a lot. We had opportunities again and came up short. It's very typical. As for Sanabia, I'm hoping he does pitch well. We'll have to see..in any case, it still strikes me odd to realize how much better the Nats are this year. Like this division wasn't hard enough. The Marlins need to start changing something somewhere or they'll end up in last place eventually Yeah Frank said after the game that this year the Marlins are only 3-4 against the Nats this year. We have to win (and we will ! :thumbup ) tomorrow and get this thing tied up. Then with the win Sunday we'll be ahead for the rest of the year. I have hope this will be, don't everyone lose the faith yet !

7/16 Post Game
It seem like this team just go out at the end to play spoiler, instead of making the playoff Wrong. Spoiler teams are like the Nationals who have surprise talent and can beat you when you least expect it. We're more like Baltimore and Pittsburgh, teams that get STEPPED ON by teams trying to make a push. We only spoil our own games. Silver I wish I could put that up in the clubhouse in a big banner. That would light a fire under these dudes. If you were to put that up in the clubhouse, I'd be afraid for your well-being lol :lol probably so

7/16 Post Game
So you all think this team will be a completely different team by 2012 when we get into our new stadium. I would hope a better team if they hope to..gasp..sell out at the new stadium Frankly its looking more and more like they will be young and promising in 2012 a lot like 2006. With as much talent as they have coming up they need to get them up here, and acclimated and then use 2011 to get the young talent ready for 2012. Next year could be 60-70 wins but it might be necessary evil to get those young kids ready for the Big Show in 2012.

- Bullpen makeups are better than Fredi' era. - Whatever we gonna buyer or seller in this season, we must be trade Jorge Cantu, as soon as possble. - 10-game homestand for final decision, starts with shutouted. Close to white flag, officially. Didn't realize this, they are 8-11 under E-Rod. Not a good sign, but tomorrow JJ is gonna take this team on his back and ride it all the way to a shutout win of his own. :thumbup

July 16 - Nationals at Marlins - 7:10 PM
C'mon enough of all this sourness, lets go Fish !
