Well, one of these years you have to figure one of the young starters is going to "figure it out" and have a decent year. We don't need them to be Cy Young, just be decent. that's very true, someone needs to have a 15 or 16 win season amoungst the other pitchers besides Ricky & JJ.

Good to see they are talking. I thought they should have locked him up 3 years ago and saved themselves $ 7-8 million by the time he got FA in 2012 or 2013. They could have signed him to a 5 year $ 28 million contract in 2008. Instead they will end up paying him $ 7.8 million this year and at least $ 10-11 million next year (if it goes to arbitration). He got around $ 4 million last year, right ? To me if they could have had him for an average of $ 6 million through 2013 and instead will pay out over $ 40 million to him if he stays through 2014, when his skills could be on the downside.

I have to agree with the OP in this respect, Loria needs to be spending money by 2012 or I too will not be going to anymore games. I usually attend about 10-15 games a year, but why should I spend my money, and then in 2012, spend twice what I am now, for a team that will be mediocre at best ? Its time Loria starts acting like he really wants to win, instead of just huffing & puffing about it.

I can picture Wayne H doing his Mister Burns imitation at the end of the last ever Home game... As soon as the final out is recorded, he kicks everyone out by "Releasing the hounds"... That would work if Huizenga still owned the stadium or the Dolphins... I thought he still owned the stadium. No he sold the Dolphins & the stadium to Ross in 2008/2009 - 50 % in 2008 and then the other 50% in 2009. I think he is the sole owner of the stadium. I believe Gloria & Emilio Estefan, Serena & Venus Williams, Marc Antony & Jennifer Lopez only bought parts of the Dolphins, not any of the stadium.

I think the better question is who'll pull off the last number at the last game.... Either Loria / Samson or Mr. Marlin Jeff Conine
