Shaft
And the worst thing about it all? Nobody's even gonna care. Commissioner Selig, MLB executives, Players/Umpires Union, NONE of them will do anything about it. Just like the blown call to ruin the Perfect Game, they can't change the outcome of a game over a blown call. But what really sticks in my craw? They'll continue to ignore situations like these, and continue to drag their feet in expanding instant replay. Things like these will never cease to happen until they expand instant replay. I bet ESPN will barely show it on TV because it's the Marlins, too. The Marlins got robbed and it's gonna get swept under the rug, too. Sirspud
I really don't think it was as obvious that the ball was foul as Rich & Tommy make it sound. Sure, the ball landed in the dirt well after it passed third, but as Rich & Tommy pointed out, it's where the ball is when it passes third base, and it was actually pretty much at the wrong side of third at that point, though it was curving in rather strangely. I don't see how blaming the umpire changes the fact that our closer blew another save throwing too many change-ups, just like he did earlier in the year. OnTopOfPhils
at least the galaragga call didn't affect the most important thing, which is what goes in the win-loss column. stupid f***.

97marlin
hanley needs to be benched if he is not going to produce at the plate he needs to be solid defensively. If he can't do either one then he is killing our team.
Hotcorner
Leo blew it and Hanley gave him a hand. and that ump should retire. Here's to a boring August.

More like our defense blew the 50th game of the year. Perhaps if Marlins pitchers actually had a defense behind them, they might look a lot better. I'm getting a little tired of our "superstar," btw. How do you make such an amazing play going from SS all the way to LF, only to f*** up a routine groundball in the 9th? Typical Hanley. Losing concentration on a play. Before you could just shrug off his errors, but now that he's not hitting, it's just total sh*t. This team is total sh*t. This year has been disappointing. Also, the ball was clearly fair. When the ball never goes foul, it is not foul.
HitDaCycle
We just got swept...by the Phillies...when they had many of their players on the DL. We just picked up the Phillies. Hanley's throwing error pissed me off also. Leo didn't look good last night and I had a bad feeling about tonight, especially after all the pitches he threw last night. The umpire screwed us over in the end. And of course, after something like that happens, we just give up. Overall, horrible series!

I honestly feel like taking a piss ont eh MLB logo right now. First Montreal moves to D.C., Blown perfect game, and now this travesty. This league is a joke. Someone with balls like Nolan Ryan should run it.

Not only that, if the ball passes OVER the base in FAIR territory, and even lands foul, it's still fair, but that's beside the point. Most important, under no circumstance, should ball be called foul if it LANDS in fair territory

I Love Me Some Fish
Blame Leo for blowing it all you want, but he was f'n Houdini in getting out of it tied. I like how the rest of the D picked him up the last few batters.
BafflingBeerman
It's bad when the breaks don't go our way. It is horrible when human error (whether it be defensively or umpiring) affects the final outcome. Not the best effort by people involved.
