If you ask me, the test if flawed. I was crossed up more than anything. I don't think my sub-concious mind was associating black with bad and white with good. I agree. This seems to be based on the Psychoanalytic Theory crossed with Pavlovian principals, and I think Freud was flawed at best. His entire interpretation of the mind had to do with sex. Jung had a much better interpretation of this theory in my humle opinion. The Pavlovian aspect was rather neat though, it was a trained response for us to associate the words with what catergory they were in originally, and in my mind, almost a trick test. I just don't think it is fair for people to judge bonds as they do. If you asked anyone why they hate bonds they wouldn't have a real answer. I think what we have going here is a two-part argument: 1. Is Bonds the best player ever? 2. Do people not like Bonds because he is black? As for the answers: 1. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. And for you to tell me that if he isn't number one on my list, that it's because of race, that's just plain stupid. I think Babe Ruth is the best, and that's not because he is white; it's because I believe he completely dominated his era (pitching and hitting). I would put Bonds two. But you have no right calling me racist for putting Ruth there. 2. You know, I think there are a select few people who do believe this, and they are that way in everything they believe. Is it wrong? Of course it is. But to completely assume that this many people hate him because of that is absurd. I happen to think Bonds is a very talented player, but you know what? That's my own opinion. I think it's sick how overused the race card is, not just in this case, but everywhere. Yes, a select number of people probably use this as their factor, but the vast majority don't. You need serious proof to start backing up any of these outrageous claims. He wouldn't be considered arrogane if he was white. Bonds disrespected Ruth because Ruth gets too much praise, only because he's white. At best, Ruth is the third greatest player of all time and the only reason why people put him in the top two is because he was white. McGwire was beloved because he was white. In the 98 home run chase, if you were to replace Sosa with another white player, it would get even more hype. If you were to replace McGwire with Bonds, Griffey, or any other black player, it wouldn't get half the hype. These are extremely serious claims with no type of backing once so ever; you're just stretching here for an argument. As far as your claim of America being afraid of powerful black men, I'd like to ask you why any American follows the NBA then? Go through the NBA rosters, pick out the best players; how many are black, how many are white? I could sit here right now and say that Peja Stojakovic is underappreciated in the NBA because he isn't black and he's a minority there. People don't hate Bonds cause they're racsit, they hate him because's hes a douche bag that thinks of nobody but himself. Sure the guy can hit homers, but coming out and publicly stating that "I'm better than Babe Ruth" was f***ing stupid. What the hell did he expect to happen? The only person in any sport who could get away with saying they were the best was Muhammad Ali. Why? And truth be told I wish he wouldnt break Aaron's record, but I know he will. This should be a time every baseball fan is excited to be witnessing. But it's not.
