The Braves Keep Bolstering the Pen

Featured Replies

their not helping them. The braves are pratically picking up scraps players that their former teams didnt want anymore.

Yea no team is like "Allright, forget our season...let's try to help the Braves out!" Every trade is calculated and wouldn't happen unless both teams feel they're receiving equal players.

Cruz and Reitsma have exceptional stuff

know who you are talking about before you call them scrap players

Cruz is going to be stellar, I have no idea why the Cubs made that deal.

I'm iffy on Retisma, has potential, but who knows. Even if he fails, they didn't give up much to get him though.

Im extremely upset we didnt get Cruz. His title of mini-Pedro will soon be realized with consistent work.

see what im saying ... why couldnt we pick up that deal ... grrr ive always liked Reitsma and now the braves get him, and all it took was Jung "One hit" Bong and some scrapper, we could have easily done the same. but we just sit here with our crappy bullpen.

im pissed

:thumbdown

Oh Im so sorry, but last time I checked the Cubs didnt want Cruz because he has sucked at the Major league level and just because he has lots of pontential does mean he'll get there. As far as im concerned you guys are over reacting is not like they got a healthy Mantei or anything like that. And Retisma has no place in the reds team. He was not going to start, close, or set-up for them so they had no need of using him. And its the freaking reds one the teams with the worst staff's in baseball.... that says alot.

Exactly BurnettHeat. The Cubs had 5 starters and it didn't make much sense to let Cruz stay in long relief and/or Iowa and endure a repeat of 2002 and 2003. He has 'potential', but come on! Hasn't brought it, time to go. Good luck with Mazzone.

I just wish the Cubs got some bats with the deal (Eli Marrero? drool....)

Cubs got robbed!

Getting Cruz was awesome, but I'd say the Braves got even in this trade. They also lost Bubba Nelson.

Cruz didn't look so hot today againstg the mets, he had no control, even though he had wicked stuff. He's probably going to AA.

Richmond will be Cruz's top post in 2004.
