April 12, 200422 yr Nate Bump got an ear full from Jack McKeon. I love the way our coach got out there and let Bump have it. Did you all see Bump's eyes widen!? Did McKeon give Bump an ultimatum? I think Phelps overheard the wrath of Jack because when he replaced Bump, he struck out Thome looking- saving the inning. Nate Bump Jack McKeon

April 12, 200422 yr You did not have to have bionic ears to know Nate got yelled at by Jack... However, I think Jack was more upset at the empire than Nate. He was yelling crap at the Empire on his way to the mound and back to the bench. We thought they were going to throw him out.

April 12, 200422 yr I would imagine it was something more along the lines of McKeon not wanting to see someone out of the pen blowing a perfectly pitched game from one of his starters by giving batter free passes. Throw strikes and make them work for it.
April 12, 200422 yr bump hasn't pitched like he first pitched since that game the padres scored like 4 or 5 runs last year in the 9th
April 12, 200422 yr Bump couldn't find the plate at all. Everything was outside. And every pitch looked the same....89-91 mph with a slight break. He looked very hittable.
