Nunez unhappy

I completely understand where you guys are coming from but really the marlins cant spare a solid prospect like him any more, lets mot forget they got rid of there top prospect last year for a player we kept a half a season. And we also cant forget that Conine isnt that young any more. So he wont get much playing time but he is well worth the bench space, seeing as he needs at least a year or two in the bigs before he can start regularly. WE CANT LET HIM GO.

I don't think he really qualifies as a "prospect" anymore.

Again, IF it's true -- He should be more like Wayne and realize it's a team effort...

Until Wednesday night, when he relieved Dontrelle Willis after five innings, Justin Wayne had been the only unused pitcher on the staff.

''Whatever my role is, we haven't found it yet,'' Wayne joked before the game. ``But you can't complain when your starters are doing great.''

Whether it is true or not, Nunez needs to be very careful about even off-the-record grumbling to the press. If you'll remember, McKeon didn't respond too favorably to that last year when Encarnacion did the same thing.

Personally, I like Nunez and want him to be around for awhile.

Ther'es been so many misquoted latin america stories over th eyars its hard to tell what he said and didn't sat so for the time being I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and see what happens in the future.

As for him not being a prospect, the guy is 27 freakin' years old, he probably has 10 years of MLB ahead of him if he pans out. I'll take that anytime, it's not like he's 34 and just making it to the bigs. He's still young enough to have alot of playing time ahead of him.

I guess it depends on what you're definition of "prospect" is.

With Codero and Easley coming off the bench, we really do not need his RH power. We could use some pop from the LH side but dont be surprised to see him down on the farm if he keeps running the mouth. There are prolly a few in the organization who think that he should be anyway (if not traded) and bring back the Banker.

McKeon said it all along that last year's team had the attitude and knew their roles. The "TEAM" won. With last year's success, this attitude will not be tolerated.....regardless of how good Nunez thinks he is.

For a low revenue team like the Fish the single most important consideration is how many years of "affordable" play you can get out of a player not neccessarily his age. If Nunez has really reached his prime (as a ballplayer) the team can look forward to having a quality OF playing for the next five years less than $4 million.

And for a team like the Fish that's exactly what we need.
