Das Texan
This is Oliver's new ERA. He still sucks. He is a lucky POS to get that kind of run support.

Ramp
He'll adjust, he's just having a bad start. Give him time. no he wont but people need to understand that he is just a stopgap till Allen James is ready
Heckeroo
his era will be over 5, most likely, just gotta live with it
RockyMountainMarlin
So, you think we should trade him for Myers? He's 2-1. If he keeps that up, its fine with me.

flasportsfan88
I dont think his era will be over 5. It was barely over 5 in colorado. (5.04)
Bazooka
he had a 5.04 ERA last year pitching in colorado, i gotta belive when all is said and done his ERA will be under 5 for this season. as long as the match ups work out to where we are facing the other team's 5th starter most of the time i think it'll be ok. Ashley
That's pretty mean to say that he sucks. I don't think he sucks at all and I still think that he will improve. I'd like to c u get up there and pitch!

bman8316
As long as our bats are hot when hes on the mound I will be fine. But everytime he struggles like he did today, the wait for A.J. becomes even longer, cant wait to see him back on that mound.
Das Texan
oliver had an era of about 4.5 in colorado. and about 5.5 on the road. you cant use the colorado excuse. and you people are blind.

nc marlin
and furthermore...... how oliver warrants 750K in salary is beyond me. he's a vet you can't give him much less than that. Look he's our temporary 5 starter, you can't expect too much. Who would you have do the job had we not signed him?
MarlinsMY
Who would you have do the job had we not signed him? I know I would have had Michael Tejera be the 5th starter. However, even Justin Wayne would have worked in this role. The Marlins originally wanted him to be a starter anyway.

Give him time. no he wont but people need to understand that he is just a stopgap till Allen James is ready Exactly! It would be nice for Oliver's ERA to be in the 4s but he is the scrub of our staff and is just holding it down until AJ is back. He isn't awful, but he is a decent major leaguer and isn't doing awful.

MarlinsMY
Tejera? Yes, he was a starter throughout his minor leauge career. He even won the Best Pitcher Award for the Eastern League in 1999. I think he's more suited for starting than in the bullpen.
RockyMountainMarlin
Everytime he was called into a game last season you had to hold your breath. The kid is good, but I'd rather have a veteran lefty.
Das Texan
i would of rather signed some veteran to a minor league contract and let people fight it out for that fifth job.

Izzie
Like Ramps been trying to stress, it's not like we really WANT him to be our starter...we just need someone to fill in until AJ comes back. We all have realized he's not exactly the best pitcher out there but fortunately, our offense has been able to make up for the runs he gives up.
