A few comments on tonight

1. Conine played a lousy left field tonight. Everybody has a bad game here and there and tonight it was Conine's turn.

2. Is it just me or has Juan Pierre lost a step? I'm starting to think he's injured. I think there's a reason he's not bunting.

3. The Fish could have/should have made this a much closer game but just didn't seem have it. Maybe they're tired from Philly.

4. One of these days Josh is going to have to trust his curveball. If Mark redman can survive without a fastball, Josh can too.

5. Agon. What can you say? It's painful watching him in the box and his defensive play is rapidly deteriorating. I wouldn't be surprised if Easley starts at SS tomorrow.

its you I think part of the reason he is not bunting is because people play in on him. He had an excellent bunt the other night. One of his better ones and still got throw out.

Last season he challenged the league to stop him from bunting his way on and won.

National league corner infielders got to see 162 games of Juan Pierre last season, they knew what he's about by last May. There's nothing they can do when he's on his game and right now he's not.

IMHO.

I don't know, there's times that I think the the Marlins could easily win 90+ this year, then there are times I think we'll struggle to .500. And I like to think that I'm very optimistic. I try to take one game at a time and we have a chance at every game. Hopefully it's just that the Braves have our number.

Guys,

Maybe I am being overly optimistic but here are my reasons for the four losses to the Braves.

The 3 Game Sweep - After being home and receiving all the awards, rings and press they hit the road. Because they went to P.R. and quite a few of the players were UP for the games comboned with the fact the Expos have been awful to this point, we grabbed some easy wins. BUT THEN...we headed to Atlanta and it was a hangover.

Tonights game was the first game back off a road trip and that is always bad news. Why? Wives, girlfriends, children, first time in 10 days or so their time isn't being spent with players on and off the field.

11-5 guys...let's back off a bit. That's a .687 winning%. At this pace they end up 111-51. That ain't happening so you better prepare yourself for the team to lose at a greater pace than they have to this point. Try a .575 winning% the rest of the way getting us 95 wins?

I went to the game against the Braves and it look like Beckett was having problems spotting his fastball and not getting the curve over. However, I felt that if Furcal does not get on that little dribbler in front of the plate that the Braves wouldn't score in the first inning and the results of the game might have been different. Having said that we had plenty of scoring oppurtunities we left 17 man on base. Conine is still struggling at bat and on the field I felt that he had a chance to catch the Adam Larouche double but did not get back to wall.

Remember they are still 11-5 and in 1st place.

I am still worry about having enough offense, but I guess that if we are still having problems at the trading deadline Beinfest might address the issue.

No matter what it is nice to be able to enjoy Baseball in South Florida again especially being the defending World Champs and having a gpod enough team to defend that title. AS a Marlins fan I am enjoying this excitement which we were robbed from by Wayne or like I refer to him BMF(Boldheaded Mother F.........!!!).

I can feel the excitement for this team in South Florida it is nice to go to the games and see over 30000 people versus 10000.

GO MARLINS!!!!!

Why not look at some of the positives? The biggest bright spot for me was Justin Wayne's continued success. He looks sharp, and he is throwing a lot of strikes. He looks a lot like Carl Pavano to me. If Wayne keeps pitching the way he has been, Oliver may have to hustle to keep his starting role. I am pretty sure that Jack wants to break Wayne in slowly, but eventually, it will be difficult to ignore that fact that he is throwing strikes. Should be interesting...

1.You're right.

2.It's just you.

3.Word

4.Josh was off today with his control and had to rely on his fastball more than his usually does.

5.AGON=Nuisance at the plate

It's clear that Jack is giving Justin increasingly difficult situations, and is gaining confidence in him.

Jack didn't bring him in at all until the 8th game of the season to mop up against the Expos.

Then pitched him in two critical extra innings against Philadelphia. Admittedly, he was the only pitcher left in the BP....but he got the win in the 12th by getting Thome (KO), Burrell and Lieberthal.....an impressive inning.

Last night he brought him in with bases loaded, 1 out in the 7th.....and Justin pitched out of the jam by getting A Jones to pop up and KO'd Larouche. Nice job.

He continued to pitch well the next 2 innings. Altogether retired 6 consecutive batters.

Minus 13...you may be correct. If he continues to pitch this well, he may well be considered to take the #5 spot.

I do not know what it is. Last night the ump was very tight with his strike zone for both teams. The Braves took advantage of this. We need Penny to come out and pitch well today. Get it started early, and score some runs early to get a little confidence. I'm not worried about JP yet he has been playing a little better in the past week or so.

Just one bad game. Beckett couldnt get his curve over and relied on his fastball too much. Much like the last time he faced the Braves. And I suspect it is because he is pushing himself too hard against them - much like Myers and the rest of the Phillies do against us.

We will have a better chance tonight. I think we had to get smacked a little to get over ourselves and focus. My people will be at the game to make sure that we win tonight... :D

She stopped talking like that a while ago.

It's more annoying when you people talk like that trying to be funny.
