Nomar in teal?

If we are to get a "big name" shortstop, I want it to be Edgar Renteria. He is humble, has played here before, and would fit the team well IMO. Plus, everyone would remember El Ni?o and the biggest hit of the 90's.

what hit? :confused

I boo in your general direction

This actually could be a possibility... :mischief

this is absurd that im hearing "NO" on nomar.... over rated??? are you people kidding me, i get the pleasure of watching the red sox play everyday and nomar is one of the few awesome, classy guys out there.....and look at his numbers! home and away... the only reason i would say no is if we cant sign him afterwards.....if this trade can be made possible.....and if we can sign nomar to atleast 3 years....you would be stupid to not make the move..... a rotation of AJ, Beckett, penny/pavano, willis, whoever... would still be awesome

Pavz and Sea bass and a prospect for Nomar, yes i would do that. But i wont trade Penny. Penny is starting to come around and is still very young and developing.

How can you guys not want Nomar!!! 2nd best Shortstop in the Majors but i dont think Boston is stupid enough to do that deal. If they want to contend versus the Yankees they need to keep Nomar.

Perhaps you people aren't watching or attending games.

We have two starters who can't get people out and some of you guys want to trade one of the three that can?

Nomar, that would be the oft and currently injured soon-to-be free agent is worth a Jeremy Hermida (a topflite prospect) and maybe a Damion Easley and not much more. Especially with his salary. A guy looking for something north of $12 million in 2005 isn't going to find more than a handful of teams that can afford his services, and unless the Sox were willing to eat half his salary, the Marlins would be hard-pressed to spend on him and ignore their bullpen problems.

If you make the deal you'd then turn around and trade Alex Gonzalez for pitching.

That's how it works.

This rumor sounds like something from Sons of Sam Horn.

Or his slider, he had one of them too. That is what made him so deadly.

LOL he only has a fastball, change, knuckle curve. Or stuff related to that. If he had a slider, it wasn't that good. and he doesn't even use the knuckle curve anymore LOL!

You know absolutely nothing LOL.ummmm please explain, young man.

He's telling you you know absolutely nothing because it is the truth.

AJ throws a fastball, change, knuckle curve, and slider. Four pitches. Not two.

Yea, I know nothing, but I pointed out since all of U forgot that he had a knuckle curve (when he 1st came up LOL, not anymore!) and his slider is so so. Its not that great. That's what I said, shorty, so how do I know nothing? You need to stop acting imature and stop ASSuming that I know nothing, young man, cause I do!

He still has his knuckle curve.

It is still amazing.

And his slider is above average.

Get out of here.

He hasn't thrown the knuckle curve since before 2001 LOL. He quit using it when he got control of his fastball more. He didn't need it anymore. Know Ur history kiddo.

THey wouldn't trade for Abreu and Rollins, I don't think Pavz would get it done.
