Nomar in teal?

Featured Replies

Either one of those trade scenarios sound great ... I really like nomah, and no he is not overated. Nomar would give us a legitimate 3rd hitter that gets on base often.

Now I would only do this deal if Scott Williamson is involved, because help in the bullpen is what we really need.

Also we would have a replacement for AGon if we do get Nomah in Wilson Valdez.

Pitching wise we would be ok without Pavano/Penny because of AJ and possibly Kevin Olsen

Also we would have a replacement for AGon if we do get Nomah in Wilson Valdez.

Wouldn't Nomar be AGon's replacement?

Let's see, he's prone to injury and his numbers outside of that hitter's park that Fenway is, absolutely suck. I wouldn't deal Pavano or Penny for him straight up and I think that there is no way that this deal happens as it would be very short-term and would mean the fish taking on money even for that short-term. It would be a boneheaded trade as far as I'm concerned. And I hope you mean Scott Olsen the prospect and not Kevin-owmyeye-Olsen who likes to sleep walk. And Wilson Valdez is not an adequate replacement for A-Gon as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn't Nomar be AGon's replacement? I think he means next year because there is no way we can afford Nomar past this year.

and why EXACTLY would boston trade their 3 hitter, their set up man for a mendoza line hitter and a number 4 starter?

wow, i dont think this would ever happen, but if it did, that'd be a sick deal.

Nomar's an all-star, guys, and with AJ coming back I really don't see how anyone could oppose this. One more hitter & a bullpen arm like Williamson is just what this team needs.

sickkkkk :)

Isn't nomah injured right now?

Yes, Achillies Heel injury. Isn't due back till the end of May, or Early June at Best.

The girl in your sig is way too hot, MasterChief, way too distracting. Enlighten me on her plz. :)

Nomah can stay away from the teal. This proposal is too lopsided towards the BoSox.

these people are AMAZING if they think this trade is acceptable even for the Sox

I really don't feel like giving up Pavano or Penny...You could make an argument that our rotation is five deep with at least a #3 pitcher in each slot...of course that includes Burnett and not Oliver....To lose that is a big blow...

Only do it if the price is right on Nomar's contract and if they can sign him at least 2 or 3 years

I think you need to go back and read Edcanes' original post. He never said anything about dealing AGon and Pavano for Nomar and Williamson straight up.

no trade.. i don't like it.

trade gonzo for nomar y would the resox even think about it agon good defense pretty bad hitting

Well there is a rumor out there about the Marlins trying to acquire Nomar, Is this true? could this happen?..........

Lets see the rumors that are out there,

Pavano, Alex Gonzalez, for Nomar

Penny, Alex Gonzalez, and a prospect(Trevor H.) for Nomar and a relief pitcher(Williamson?)

alot of names being toss around, lets take a deep look at this from both sides

Boston: Nomar is free agent at season end and will not be back. Pedro could be gone and with no replacement in place its a must that Boston look for a young pitcher like a Pavano or Penny.

Florida: It does wonder, a star in Nomar in a position that need more production from and with AJ(today help alot) on the way back it. Could be dealing from a strength on the team. Also if Florida could get a Williamson into the deal, it would a top set-up guy.

Now do I know this to be true? all I know is Nomar has called UM baseball coach Jim Morris on more than one occasion about playing baseball in Sfla. Connection Jim was Nomar coach at GaTech.

will see :D

F that unless we get a damn GOOD long-term discount with Nomar. A year rental isn't worth ANYTHING in this rumor and I think Gonzo sucks. Nomar hasn't exactly been ARod outside of Fenway. Save our money to resign the staff and sign Renteria. NO WAY Nomar or Edgar is worth more than 8 million a year. :thumbdown

HELL NO!!!

I rather keep starting pitching together than deal for one year rental.I rather have to live through another year with Agon at the plate.

If it's Pavano and Gonzalez for Nomar, I'm down. Starting pitching is clearly our strength, and Pavano is the only FA in our rotation next season. And let's face it, A-Gon will always be a hole in our batting order.

Only problem is:

Oliver

I rather keep AGON,rather than see Oliver stay as a starter.

Must I restate the fact that there is no way we will be able to sign Nomar as this is his FA year. He would suck in PPS. He's injury prone. Not to mention that annoying adjusting of the batting gloves after every pitch.
