May 9, 200422 yr No, it's not Darren Oliver, it's our favorite catcher! - RAMON MENDOZA! He left 4 on base, had 2 K's, lowered his average to .131, and had ANOTHER 0-fer night. He also made a bad defensive play! Or maybe it's... - ALEX CRAPHEAD! Believe it or not, he was WORSE than Mendoza! He left 5 on base, lowered his average to .186, had 2 K's, had another 0-fer, and didn't reach base. At least RaMendoza walked. You could say he made some great defensive plays, but that fact that he's not producing AT ALL is pretty bad. They say anything off the bat of A-Gon is a bonus, but I'm not sure Jack is fine with him hitting .186 and striking out left and right. Both men left the bases loaded too! ^_^

And Alex is on our team because of his defense...we know that hes not a great hitter but we still put him in because of his defense...I dont know why everyone is mad at him because he is not hitting...I mean I know everyone wants him to hit better than how he is right now but you cant expect so much from him when afterall hes on our team for his defense-not his offense. And if we are having problems scoring runs and we need someone who will hit better than we will take him out...but he has great defense.

I agree. Look at Furcal, bad fielder, but his offense helps A LOT. And any SS wil make more plays than the mess up.

You say that like it's so easy How about this: I know we're going to have to give up a lot if we wanna get the pirates to pay off a lot of Kendall's huge contract so this is what I came up with. Pirates get: Castro Jason Stokes (I know a lot of people on this board really wouldn't like trading him, but I think Choi has proved he is the first baseman of the future, and Hermida is the heir-apparent to Conine not Stokes.) Gracesqui or Howard Marlins get: Kendall Brian Meadows (this guy has pitched unbelievably out of the pen so far for the Buccos.)

You're basically saying, "It's ok that he sucks as long as he plays defese." Well he left 5 on base today and he cost us the game. All he or Ramon had to do was put the ball in play and they didn't. Who knows what would've happened if we had a DECENT hitter at bat.
