May 10, 200422 yr If you've been wondering what our new ballpark may look like, take a look at this: Now, here is the Fish Bowl Now, the demensions of our park will be a little more rough. The right side of the bowl will have fewer seats than the left, and instead of the left field stands gradually getting bigger more toward center field will not happen. The left field stands will be evenly distributed into a straight line perpendicular to the wall, ending when you reach center field where the jumbotraun is with no seats, possibly plants and/or bullpens behind the CF wall. Both the left field wall and first base line sides of the ballpark are straight lines because of the retractable roof, that will close and open from the third base side over. Right field will have a decent amount of seats. And it looks to me like there is some sort of configuration similar to the picnic area at PPS in the upper right field corner. Basically, picture Wrigely with more seats in right field and fewer in left, with a straight left field wall. Now put a roof on it. That's our stadium.

It's like Miami's minor league park Bobby Maduro Stadium, which does resemble Wrigley, but is strictly coincidental.
May 10, 200422 yr I want not relation at all to that garbage franchise in Chicago's North Side Believe me, it looks like Bobby Maduro than Wrigley. Maduro Stadium had lights before Wrigley and was the prettiest minor league park for over 30 years hands down. At the end of it's life, it was still a king of it's era. The new ballpark should pay homage to it as well as the Orange Bowl which was the home to Baseball while Maduro was being rebuilt.

May 11, 200422 yr Author Wrigley field is probably a fairer comparison than Maduro, considering it also fits a good 38,000 people. It's basically the same field in many aspects.

Ours will obviously be unique in several ways, I was just pointing out the similarities between the two ballparks. I can't WAIT until HOK comes out with the plans for our park. BTW: The Cardinals new stadium will also feature an aquarium. Can't they just go get a freakin' bird sanctuary or something.
May 11, 200422 yr what is going to look better is from LF where the scoreboard will be, to RF beyond the bleachers it will be a huge window like at miller but without a second tier, if the stadiu is angled correctly we will have an awesome view of downtown, but it will be difficult. i have faith in loria.

In most parks, the line would point northeast, and the sun field would be RF (just like PPS). I know the rendition keeps the skyline over the OF fences. That is good (we do not want to look at the back of the OB). What is the MLB guideline for stadium directional "positioning"?

Not sure what rendering you are looking at, but the line from home plate to center field points to the SE, not NE. In this configuration, neither OF would be facing the sun.
May 12, 200422 yr Thanks - I edited the post. In the rendition, the LF would be looking west, directly into the sun (when the sun is above the rim of the stadium). In PPS, RF looks into the sun.

From LF, the setting sun will be over the 1B line, towards RF, not towards the plate or flight of the ball. It shouldn't be a problem for the LF'er.

Their owners newspaper covers up a murder story because it happened outside their stadium on gameday. Sickening. As for the Marlins new stadium, I like it. I'm sure you all will love it, new stadiums are a beautiful thing.
