Until we fall out of first, who can say?

Fact is we have been in first everyday of this season. About doubling our combined days in 1st place over our first 10 seasons.

I am so sick of our team playing the way there are. It gets me steamed! :banghead :thumbdown

When are changes coming!?

I was hoping to see a little different lineup, like the last game's.

If I was to tell you before the season that on May 18th, the Marlins would be in first place and had been in 1st place everyday of the season you'd say "Awesome!"

Bad news Admin- Since May 1st, Justin Wayne is sporting a 12.96 ERA in 8.1 IP.

Yeah, but this isn't a Justin Wayne thread. I'm aware of it but I believe he's going to turn it around soon. Of course none of you will agree, but then again nobody believed he'd make the team or perform the way he did the first few weeks either.

So? I didn't want to make a whole OTHER thread to point it out.....just thought it was interesting.

it seems that we're playing like crap, and F-Train keeps pitching like s*** more and more often. Yes, we're first place, but that's only b/c the NL East right now sucks. Let's face it: the Phillies are coming, and either we start playing Marlin Baseball like in the beggining of the season, or we'll have to get acquainted with second place.

and when he threw his complete game last week you were all on him...get over it dtrain is here to stay hes 22 and will only get better! stop whining and get over it .you have your ups and downs and dtrain cant pitch lights out every night.

keep it PG Sheff

Admin, I see what your saying here but.......

The fact of the matter is that this team isn't playing well, and on the surface appears to have some significant holes. The fact that they have been in first all year is great, but I believe they have blown a golden chance to build a large division lead with their bad play thusfar this year.

Is this a bad team? No, but maybe all the players they lost last offseason, while not a firesale, did cut a whole into the overall talent level (outside of the starting rotation) on this team.

We are missing a bat in the 3rd-5th spot, and some quality BP help.

My question is How soon will we see a changes? We got handled tonight!

We need at least two good arms in this club. Has anyone heard anything about a trade (or two)? What about bringing up talent from the minors?

The worse thing we can do is to not do anything.

Changing the lineup will not cut it.

The way we are playing is getting under my skin. We best start winning again or I will...grrr!!!!!!

I'm very frustrated with McKeon's management of the club. Don't get me wrong. He's an excellent manager. His in-game strategy is above-average, and his relationships with players off the field is legendary.

However he hasn't been able to use the team's talent (it is more talented overall than we had prior to July last year, bullpen included) and put them in a position to win. His lineup management has been poor. His bullpen management, what he once was lauded with praise while in Cincinnati, is suspect at best. It's as if he showed up yesterday with no clue of each player's skills.

With our stopped Chad Fox spiraling out of control earlier this year he used our number one groundball specialist in a mop-up role when ideally you'd want him to come in jam situations. His handling of young players like Choi and Nunez (ok, not so young) have been awful. I had always thought people's claims that McKeon loves to play youngsters were false and that he was put into that position by small-market teams and injuries. This doesn't confirm my suspicions. But Choi should be atleast be starting against every righthander, and Nunez used more than just a defensive replacement.

and you think they are looking and playing like a first place team? They were 8 over and now tinkering at 3-4-5 for a while. If the other team scores a few runs early the games are over. There is zero offense and the pitching can't hold up every night. Phils have made up 5 games already and have won 8 of 11. Marlins can't win 2 straight. If you think this is such a positive sign, wake up. They Phils and Mets will be ahead of us in a few weeks, if not sooner.

Choi has every chance in the world. How is McKeon mishandling Choi? McKeon sits Choi vs a righty after the guys strikeouts out 6 straight times. Cordero is a proven hitter, Choi isn't. You never want to give Cordero a shot? As for mishandling the bullpen, what a laugh. What bullpen? Not getting the most out of Justin Wayne? Look at the Astros pen. They have four or five guys bringing it 93-95. Marlins have Benitez in the pen and that's it. They don't even have quality arms? Is Nate Bump better than Brad Lidge? If it wasn't for McKeon, this team is 4 games under, not 4 over.
