Bump Got the Win

The hit Bump gave up was a fat ball over the middle of the plate.......necessary because he couldn't get the curveball over for a strike.

Face it, Bump does not have the nerve to pitch in tough situations. But who else is Jack going to send out there? We need Fox badly.

Perisho should NEVER face righties. He owns lefties. Bump should never face any batters unless we lead by 5 runs.

Do you have to be so miserable?

We won, Bump only allowed a hit Had he come in with no one on base, we would hve got out of the inning and won anyway.

Did Perisho deserve the win, who allowed the runners to be on base?

:eyebrow

I think not.

Perisho is a lefty specialist.

Jack is trying to use him as an 8th inning guy because he doesn't have one.

One good bullpen addition to pitch the 8th, and the BP will be 100% better.

Bump only allowed a hit. Leave him alone.

It wasn't his fault Perisho let the runners on.

Anyone remember when the Bump fans said it's not Bumps fault the relievers that entered the game after him allowed the runners to score?

Now Bump is not responsible for inherited runners?

Guys, look at the ERA and WHIP....'nuff said.

I dont care if the bases are loaded, he two outs to get and he couldnt do that regardless of the baserunners, all he had to do was get vizquel out and he just couldnt. the kid has no balls at all. im not that big of a fan of perisho either.

yeah but the other team is paid to hit...so it works both ways.... When Mike Piazza hits a high fastball over the right field wall, you just tip your hat to him.

When Nate Bump throws a 3-2 pitch down the middle, because it's the only pitch he can throw not to load the bases......totally different situation.

Poor Matt "Useless Against Righthanders" Perisho, for the first time this year someone didn't bail him out. What a magnificient stretch to have gone to never have your left over runners score.

Bump was very shaky tonight, as was Perisho. And Willis. And Benitez (to his standards). And we still won with Nate Bump playing the role of vulture. Woohoo.

Benitez was shaky because he had one full count and got 3 outs against 3 batters?

Wow. You obviously want too much from these guys.

Sorry...when the Bumper comes in, my heart rate goes through the roof. Perisho vs. Righties also causes me that.

Nate Bump pitching with a man on third and the infield forced to play short is a worse situation for him than having to face Jim Thome, Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey Jr in order.

The guy is not a strikeout pitcher, he's a crafty guy who induces groundballs. He needs help from the infield to convert them into outs, and more often than not Lowell, Alex, Luiy and Choi haven't been able to help. The guy is being DIPS-ed to hell and back.

He hasn't shown me anything to make me think he deserves that assumption. Put simply, we have no viable set-up man on our roster. It was painfully obvious tonight, but hey, we won.

I also get a little nervous when Bump comes in but I was impressed today. After giving up that run, he could have let is snowball and completly lost the game but instead he buckled down and got the K to end the inning. I think that slowly but surely he may be becoming a reliable reliver for the Fish.

You have some low standards for relief arms if you where impressed with bump. It's more of a problem with the bullpen as a whole though. Bump is getting asked to set up for benitez. Something that obviously has him overmatched. I believe he can excell as a middle relief type of guy. I just wouldn't ever trust him in the 8th inning of a close game.

Perisho = Overrated

Perisho is not a setup man, he is a lefty specialist and nothing more. They guy walks a ton of people, and most of the time he is pitching from behinf (3-0, 3-1, 3-2). Bump is not good, but he always come with men on. WTF?

As sad as it sounds, Toby Borland is the best option for a setup man at the moment.
