nc marlin
I thought he gets a clean slate. And if I remember correctly that ERA was prior to this game.
CapeFish
the season one is, but the last 10 games is correct. It says TEX 9.00 ERA
CapeFish
He needs to work on the 7 walk/12 K ratio he has had in the last 10. He has allowed 14 hits, 2 tonight, but he Ked 1 tonight. No walks tonight, but the 2 hits scored a run. He wasn't rocked by the top of the Rangers lineup which is good though. He also doesn't allow the longball much. 3 this season in 23.1 IP and 38 in his career 382.2 IP.
PBMarlin
One observation I had with Koch last night is he let's his head fall back as he is throwing the ball. Then his head has a jerking motion forward as he follows through. He doesn't look very fluid. No wonder he has trouble with his command. Rosenthal has his work cut out. dolfinfan305
Does this guy still have minor league options....Wouldnt do him bad to fine tune technics in minors and then call him up once he masters them.

You gotta be kidding.....he's our best guy in the 'pen right now, other than Benitez. Who would replace him? Mike Neu? Come on. Maybe he just needed a change of scenery.....he's a former 40+ save closer.
CapeFish
Those last 10 games in Chicago killed him. Before them his ERA was not more than 2.
Mets_bs
Bullsh!t, his ERA hasn't been around 2 since April 13th.
Ramp
If you take out his 2 really bad outings one where he went 1/3ip 3er, and 2/3ip 4er his era is a nice 3.
Beastie
Koch is throwing extremely slow. When he pitched good with Toronto and Oakland he was consistently throwing in the high 90s. In his first outing with the Marlins and all season actually he has been throwing in the low to mid 90s. Hopefully his velocity gets back to how it used to be or else his numbers will stay the way that they are now.

Rosey will teach him.

What's Mariano at these days? Speed is a non-factor, location is everything. ...and movement.

What's Mariano at these days? Speed is a non-factor, location is everything. ...and movement. For Koch speed was a big factor. Mariano survives because he has the best cutter in the league. Koch doesnt have anything extraordinary to complement the fastball and thats why if he doesnt start throwing harder he will not do good o and of course him not having much control also is a reason why he isnt doing well. And yes him hitting 95 a couple of time is slow for him. He was consistently at around 93 yesterday.

Ros should get this guy going...hopefully sooner than later

No im not saying that Im just saying that Koch has to start throwing as hard as he was back when he was getting people out. I think Rosie is a great coach and hope he can find whatever Koch's problem is and fix it.
