94.9 ZETA rock station

Featured Replies

Have the poll choices given away my opinion?

Oops...

Seriously, WTF is with this station? How does "new rock" equal Metallica, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Green Day, etc...

Are these idiots stuck in the 90s?

These are not new bands.

And to make it worse, now they've added classic rock songs to their format. Even though their sister station is Big 106 which is a CLASSIC ROCK STATION.

They also OVERPLAY everything into the ground. So that if you ever do like a song, within one week you hate it like poison already. They play virtually nothing new, nothing cutting edge. It's all Staind and Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters and Evanessence and Godsmack and Hoobastank. bleah.

These bands are fine if that's what you like. But at least throw in some NEW BANDS as well. The station up in West Palm, (Buzz) which I can only rarely pick up, blows them out of the water every time I've heard them.

I hate this station with a passion I usually only reserve for televangelists. Next week I'm moving up to north Broward & so will be able to pick up The Buzz, thank goodness.

i listen to the beat i dont like rock so i wouldnt really know if ther good or not

I like Zeta, it's the only station in town that plays the music I like. I wish they wouldn't play so much Metallica and Nirvana, though.

I like Zeta, I guess I might not listen to it enough to be bored by it though. When I do listen it's alright.

umm yeah Zeta does not play anything new ... all they play is 90's alternative which is not bad but c'mon now lets not overplay the stuff. Zeta has already made me hate most of these bands... clearchannel pisses the **** out of me

... the Buzz 103.1 blows the heck out of Zeta but thats in West Palm and unfortunatly it does not come too clear unless your somewhere around the area

I just stick to listening to the college stations (wkpx and wvum) which usually have a very alternative programing (from hip-hop to punk to dance) and they usually like to explore their options which is a plus in my book

Living is South Boca I enjoy the interminable agony that is being able to listen to both.

Not to date myself here (being an old 29 and all) but for anyone whose ever lived for any length of time in another market, you know what I'm talking about when I say that SoFla radio is the worst there is.

Zeta is painful, and it's because they don't have to be any better than they are, as they are the only real outlet for anyone south of Pompano.

The Buzz isn't much better.

I can drive for an hour and spend the whole time flipping constantly through channels lokking for something decent. And it's not like I have very speciic tastes. I listen to anything from rap - r&b to classic and modern rock. But if I hear another old, creaky, tired STP song on Zeta I'm performing a full frontal lobotomy on myself and chucking the leftover brains at Zeta's studios.

rock music

Argh, why EVEN post here if you don't care?!?!?!

Argh, why EVEN post here if you don't care?!?!?! I like movies about gladiators.

Meh.

Zeta is the only station down here that plays rock so I guess we have to like it :confused .

But i would like if they put more variety and newer stuff.

No more music that was released before I was born.

I agree with you FreshF ... sofla has the worst radio stations ever

at least the rock stations ... im not too big on the whole dance/rap scene so I cant comment on that ... but I dont care what anyone says but rap bites the big one now

there used to be a thing back in the days that was a must to be a rapper and that was called "skills" ... yeah bling bling will do the job nowadays

I used to love Zeta, I really did. They played all the "new" rock songs and it was something you would listen to none stop.

And then they started playing classic rock songs and now a good portion of it is either Guns n Roses or Black Sabbath or Pink Floyd and on and on and on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this supposed to be the "NEW" rock alternative?

I swear I'm going to call Big 105.9 one day and request GodSmack or Staind one day and go off on them if they tell me that this is only a "classic" rock station :censored

Thank you, I'm done! :mad :

Guys, I have a suggestion.

Here in Fort Myers we have 99X which is at 99.3 FM

http://www.99xwjbx.com

Here is their music playlist info

http://www.99xwjbx.com/cgi-bin/navobjs?&te...ate.htm&recno=3

I don't listen to it, but my brother does. I prefer Lite FM.

Couldn't hurt to try it.

It also has a classic rock sister station that airs Howard Stern at 96.1 FM. It's called 96 K-Rock.

http://www.96krock.com/cgi-bin/navobjs?tem...emplatehome.htm

We also have Arrow 94.5

http://www.arrow945.com/index.htm

Real Rock 92.5 is a new station, http://www.realrock925.com/

They carry Lex and Terry, which also airs on Zeta, so I guess they may also be of interest. On most days, the FM signals will get into Miami, but it will have some static.

WAVY 101.1 is an easy listening station that travels well there, so I know the others can make it.

I do agree that Zeta has been playing a lot more classic rock all of a sudden, like old Aerosmith from the early 1980's.

What kills the Miami radio market is all the spanish language stations there are that take away valuable frequencies.

So far the poll is a bell curve, so I guess ZETA is programming right.

Great! They're cutting edge, & play all the newest stuff! [ 2 ] [20.00%]

So-So...they overplay songs too much. No variety. [ 3 ] [30.00%]

Music sucks, their DJs suck, they suck like a Hoover (tm Fillet) [ 3 ] [30.00%]

So bad that they make me want to turn to gospel music [ 2 ] [20.00%]

I'd say it's more likely because (as Fish Fillet mentioned), it's all we have down here south of Boca, & therefore people are stuck with it.

People who have always lived down here probably don't even realize how bad it is.

How a giant media market like this can have such drek for radio is astonishing.
