July 10, 200421 yr You really did outdid urself. trading odom,a nono.bigger nono is trading him and butler. you have now lost the nucleus u have been builidng for 2 years. what do we have now after shaq and wade? a bunch of crap on the floor.
July 10, 200421 yr I'm sorry, but this move is good. EJ, Grant, and Odom weren't the sure thing. We now have Shaq, Wade, and can build from there. EJ and Grant are crap and Odom has had drug trouble before. This is a good risk cutting move. Now just keep Shaq happy and healthy.

July 10, 200421 yr nothing's final yet even though it might seem like it is, i'm certain that this isn't as close as ESPN makes it seem There's no good reason to let Odom go, drugs are a dumb reason and so is inconsistency. But good players come and go.... :confused
July 10, 200421 yr You have a dominant big man who automatically makes you a legit threat. The Heat are not winning The Eastern Conference this year but you still have a much better shot than you did a few hours ago. Short term, Great deal for The Heat. Yes Long Term though The Lakers win out but Butler's not becoming a huge superstar. His biggest upside when he first came in was the impact he would make right away. He'll be a solid player but not a star. For Odom, Who cares? Yeah he's a great player but of course Shaq is better. Eddie Jones and Butler wasn't going to make this deal happen, of course Odom had to be involved.
July 10, 200421 yr riley will be a f***up if/when he gives shaq a 3 year extension at anywhere near what he's making now
July 10, 200421 yr Author heat not a threat to win the east? umm im sorry but yes we are. the only team as good as us now is detroit. if they have no sheed then we are in favor. even with sheed we give them a run.
July 10, 200421 yr When the Lakers had only Shaq and Kobe they won 3 titles When they had 4 hall of famers last year they choked in the finals So maybe with only 2 great players the Heat will be fine?
July 10, 200421 yr Author riley will be a f***up if/when he gives shaq a 3 year extension at anywhere near what he's making now 450830 i actually think thats not as big a f***up. and get ready cuz the extension is part of the deal. he will be here 5 years.

July 10, 200421 yr if only the bobcats could have taken EJ in the expansion draft *imagines what could have been*
July 10, 200421 yr Author let just wait and see who the final player is. reports are that it could be wright butler or the 1st pick
July 10, 200421 yr Man i wish we could just find out who the 3rd player is. Should I love Riles or hate him. I really hope Caron is not in this deal, really really hope.
July 10, 200421 yr someone needs to spew up a list of potential free agents for next season and the year after
July 10, 200421 yr Author someone needs to spew up a list of potential free agents for next season and the year after 451021 what for? the deal in place has shaq gettin an extension that would sign an additional 3 years so he will be here for 5 years
July 10, 200421 yr Heres a sun-sentinel article with some FA the head would go after for next season, and some words from Shaq's agent http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basketb...fla-sports-heat Still, with O'Neal on the payroll, the Heat likely could attract significant value with the $5.1 million and $1.6 million signing exceptions granted to teams above the salary cap. Options for such contracts could include forwards such as Toni Kukoc, Stephen Jackson, Eric Williams and Keon Clark, as well as guards such as Damon Jones, Lindsey Hunter and Shammond Williams. Shortly after O'Neal completed his workout and then a meeting with Heat President Pat Riley, the center's agent, Perry Rogers, confirmed that O'Neal had decided his basketball future should be in Miami. "We've said that we would agree to a trade,'' Rogers said. "I think that's going to happen. I'd be very surprised if it didn't happen."
July 10, 200421 yr Author yes but i would like to know whats out there when EJ is gone 451041 u wont really know until late this year. most of the big names are signed for a while and this year alot of big names have been traded or will sign like tmac and kobe. 2 years from now maybe a couple of players contracts will be up but i dont beleive many stars will be.
