Mr. Conine has done more for this team than Willingham will likely ever do.

Also, Willingham playing the day game at PPS is not the recipe for defensive success. Play Conine...Jack is right.

Which is why The Phillies should resign Mike Scmidt to play third base.

The game's not played on what you have done in the past.

so Conine did more for this team than Willingham did. That's nice. We are worried about the present, not the past.

He's doin sh*t for this team this season.

bingo

I guess there aren't many Conine supporters left around here, it's sad but that's alright.

When he has a good 2nd half and his numbers are there at season's end... at least recognize the man still has "it" and is not washed up.

If he has a good 2nd half then I will give him all the props he is due.

He just hasn't given me any reason to believe that will happen.

I can understand the line up today and Jack's reasoning.

Conine does hit better against lefties and has reached base all 6 times he faced Leiter in the past. Giving Choi another chance against a lefty after he good performance last night also makes sense.

It would be difficult to put Choi in the 5th spot, so Conine gets the nod.

It will be very telling to see how Jeff does today.

Well, 2 out of the 3 Ballas isn't bad, is it?

I really don't have a problem with Conine playing because in all reality it would have probably had to be Choi or Willingham in the lineup and I think I would want Choi in there right now more.

It's one swing man.

If he does it consistently, against righties, then cool. But one swing doesn't change anything.

The man still has the shoulder injury, his back is also bothering him, the fires and smoke bother his sinus, and hit a grand slam. He is not washed up. He can still play defense and he will start hitting soon enough.

the lineup for the streakin Florida Marlins(won 1 in a row :plain)

Mr Out = Mr Grande Salami

Ramp, open mouth; insert foot.

so is he 4 for his last 40 now?

I loved seein him hit that GS today...and if he keeps that up the 2nd half, then leave him in....but if it doesnt.....

WILLINGHAM!

Man was that crowd wild. I was in section 143 row 18 and as soon as he made contact everyone knew it was out of there. Conine stepped up when he needed to and that's what counts. Great job Niner!
