July 18, 200422 yr Maybe you could use that lineup for a game... Harris should just be cut now, and A-Gon needs to play short. Josh Willingham at catcher will happen next year, but he isn't ready yet.

When our starters become more consistent, you will see our winning percentage increase. Last night sucks because that was a winnable game.
July 18, 200422 yr The biggest problem has been the stagnant baserunning. Break up the two leadoff men and spread out our speed throughout the lineup. That would help both the top, middle and bottom or the order. Unfortunetly McKeon only cares about helping the top and middle, and the team only cares about relying on the middle.
July 18, 200422 yr I agree that if you are going to make a lineup change, it should be more permanent. Let me join in here: Pierre Choi Conine Lowell Cabrera Castillo AGon Willingham P That lineup has a lot of possibility. Choi has an excellent OBP and can advance Pierre and even have the option of hitting a home run to start the game off. Conine makes a lot of contact and you can rely on him for a hit and run situation and he should see more pitches hitting 3rd than 5th/6th. Lowell is our #4. Dont move him Jack or I will cut off you right hand so you cant make another lineup card change. Cabrera needs to hit in a less pressurized situation and he will still get plenty of opportunity to drive in runs and clean up. Castillo would help break up the speed and possibly get more chances to run. AGon would have to learn to hit to RF, but with Castillo in front of him he could have a pretty good chance of advancing the runner and driving in runs. He also has some pretty good pop. Willingham needs to learn the ropes defensively for catcher - so you have to bat him lower in order to have him adjust to the work load. He would be a great option to flip the order back around though too.

July 18, 200422 yr If McKeon's going to try the same approach to the lineup you can bet Willingham will be batting 8th. He doesn't seem trust to trust rookies as was once advertised. I'd move Conine down to 5th and Lowell and Cabrera up. Building a lineup to help the entire team should always be the focus of any lineup, but you still want to get your best hitters more plate appearances.
