Penny will always be inconsistent and as long as he is inconsistent, he won't be an ace.

-Looper is expensive and not as controlling as we hoped. He gets into many jams, but to his credit can get out of them most of the time.

-Spooney has arm problems now, imagine if he closed, that's alot of innings.

-Something is not working, we must change something. I think Penny is it.

This team cant have that right now Ramp. When AJ, Willis, and Beckett are all healty he could be that #4 guy. But right now he has to step up.

Every pitcher will have more than two bad games per year even top pitchers.Some people just don't understand...Brad Penny has been solid this year and if you want to talk about inconsistency talk about Lee.

ok i watched a little of the game tonight, and i turned the station. Not because the Marlins lost a lead. Because Brad Penny could have cared less. It just really sickend me.

Comparing Lee to Penny is apples and oranges, and not just for the obvious reasons.

 

The Marlins need to be very careful with what they do with Penny. And no, they aren't moving him to the pen long-term. Moving him anywhere would drop his value through the floor. He's an SP for the duration, if for nothing else to keep his value up so if they do get to the point where they want to they can move him

 

AS for Lee, no matter what there is little value for an offensively mediocre 1B who doesn't show up until June.

I observe it to be a personal thing, he wants to show up McKeon because he has the impression the old man won't be here long. I though Frank Robinson was a lame duck in Montreal? This is baseball, things can't be guessed like that. McKeon is manager not interim manager.

Like I said Penny has been solid this year and you just can't take into account two or three bad games.Record doesn't tell the whole story because I can remember a couple of games where Penny pitch very well but offense struggles.

I remember alot of games where the offense has been good for him early and he struggled.

Penny is inconsistent.. he has had games where he has been great, don't get me wrong. But he is consistent in giving up a lot of runs early in the game, a lot of times after the Marlins have scored. Most of the time he shuts it down after that, usually after allowing 4 or 5 in one inning, though.

 

I think I remember Tommy Hutton in one of the games mention something about Penny not getting loose enough before he comes in the game. If that's the case, then Rosenthall needs to help him work it out. Otherwise, he needs to start pitching (not just throwing whever he gets in a jam) and stop blaming others for his problems (ie D. Lee and McKeon).

Many have waited for Penny to have a huge year, and when the two top starter in our team are out you would expect Penny to step up and he has failed to do so. What i have is frustration and many feel the same. Willis a rookie has step up why Penny cant only he knows.

He is not warming up to be stubborn. He is so stupid, he is flushing his record down the drain and not helping himself. Rosenthal cannot warm up for him, he is a grown athelete who knows what to do. Rosenthal can push him to do what he's supposed to and McKeon can fine him. Bobby Cox is fine friendly with his players. Their is no room for a player to be stubborn in his clubhouse, the Marlins should do the same!

now for real, you didn't notice that he kept doing the same thing everytime. How can you a rookie that is hitting .200 off you kill you. Did he make any adjustments? Baseball is all about adjustments there is no way that a less-than-good rookie should get the best of you twice in two key situations. Its not like he was facing Sheffield or Edmonds he was facing a no name. I have a feeling that people would be saying the same thing if Brian Banks tore apart Leiter tonight. You can't PITCH THE SAME PITCH IN THE SAME SPOT EVERYTIME. I learned that in Tee ball and you don't even have a pitcher there, and yes Penny has been the loudest mouth in the clubhouse when it came to the Dempster and Floyd deals (which in my opinion of both they worked out) but didn't he also come out in defense of Miceli's bashing of Boles? I may be wrong but i believe he was one of the ones who spoke out. Penny is becoming a Tumor and now it might not be cancer, but the clock is ticking.

 

Im sorry but yeah maybe the Mets are heating up and they have won 4 of 6. But wasn't their last series against the Rangers? I mean we took 2 or 3 from them didn't we. Its not like they went out and took a series from the Braves.

Penny had a 3.50era going into tonight.... he has stepped up plenty...

 

wins and losses arent what makes a pitcher-look at era and whip and h/9ip and other stuff....(yes W's get you into the HOF and stuff but dont bring that nonsense in here)

 

when's the last time Penny stepped up? Texas.... how about vs Oakland?
