Either the Rockies don't pay off a lot of Walker's contract and we don't have to give up a lot of prospects but we're screwed this offseason. Or they payoff most of Walker's contract and the rockies pillage our farm system. So this is what I would do. Trade Stokes to pittsburgh for Rob Mackowiak. A definite upgrade over Encarnacion and cheaper. Trade Enc, Abraham Nunez and a low-level prospect to the O's for Rodrigo Lopez. He'd be a pretty good fifth starter and has been terrific out of the pen which would help us if we make it to the playoffs.

You guys say Encarnacion is awful, Nunez has zero value and when you say a low-level prospect what does that mean? It means a bad prospect. And for this the O's will trade what may be their best pitcher this season outside of young Daniel Cabrera? So why do the O's want this? Fran, teams are not looking to give us talent for nothing. You want Rodrigo Lopez? I'd bet they might do it for Olson and Justin Wayne.

The trade deadline is a little more than 4 hours away. Maybe the'll get another starter. I also think that one of those guys actually put in the starter role would do just fine. Give them a damn chance! (Not you Fran. You're always fair!) I am going to miss Penny and Choi. I still can't believe it!
