August 7, 200421 yr Possible Lineup: 1. Tony Womack (L) 2. Edgar Renteria (R ) 3. Albert Pujols (R ) 4. Admin Walker (L) 5. Scott Rolen (R ) 6. Jim Edmonds (L) 7. Reggie Sanders (R ) 8. Mike Matheny (R ) :o I think that's what we may go with.. Admin should be in St Louis before tommorow's game. Wether he starts or not remains to be seen!

I still think the Cubs will beat them in the playoffs if Nomar and their staff is healthy. Either way, if we can't make it there, I hope the Cubs or Cards beat the s*** out of the Yanks if Boston chokes again!!!!!! :mad :
August 7, 200421 yr outhit everyone seems to be the plan ... and with walker is hard to top that best lineup in baseball HANDS DOWN !!! ... who cares if they put Cedeno/michal jackson or michael jordan in LF NL Central has some serious powerhouses cant wait till the cards role down to southflorida
August 7, 200421 yr Walker would have been a great addiotion for us. Imagine the top 6 hitter of our team then. Pierre, Castillo, Lo Duca, Cabrera, Walker, Lowell. Talk about a top 6. Anyway, Walker apparently nixed a deal to the Marlins anyway, we were willing to pay for him. You are about to be PhishPhan'erized.
August 7, 200421 yr no but even better ... the rockies were willing to pay about half his contract and I used to liked walker freaking walker i cant wait to boo you when you come to sofla
August 7, 200421 yr Yeah, the Cardinals are good, although few people have noticed......... They have the best defense, lineup, and bullpen in the NL now. Their 2-6 portion of the order simply isn't unfair, and for a team 30 something games over to make a move like this. WOW.
August 7, 200421 yr They'll turn out just like the '01 Mariners. C-H-O-K-E 500235 the Cubs have never choked
August 7, 200421 yr I would take the team with the best bullpen, lineup, and defense in the NL over the team cursed by a billy goat in the playoffs. My apologies national media, but that's how it goes....

My apologies national media, but that's how it goes.... 500240 So would I but people still say our pitching will choke.. Our pitching isn't good enough for the playoffs.. Is that so? They may not be the dominate pitchers other teams have but they keep us in the games and with this lineup I'll take my chances any day of the week with em!! :notworthy
August 7, 200421 yr I have anticipated your criticisms and needless to say, I hoped you would all come up with more original retorts. Bottom line, I would bet my house on the Cards losing in the playoffs, and you all know deep down you would never take that bet.
August 7, 200421 yr they look really solid but the playoffs are a whole different event, i wonder how Morris Williams Carpenter and Marquis will handle the spotlight...
August 7, 200421 yr Why the hell would Walker break up the Pujols/ Rolen connection? 499945 righty,lefty,right,lefty... hard to stop that 499967 It was already hard to stop the back ot back MVP candidates.

Both with OPS's over .1000 and a combined total of 177 RBI's between the two.
August 7, 200421 yr Bonds is the MVP. Rolen/Edmonds/Poo Holes is a nice story, but no one has the freakish stats of #25. Sorry Cards fans.
August 7, 200421 yr St. Louis is definitely the team to watch out in this year's playoffs....nasty stuff.

Sorry Cards fans. 500379 Bonds is #1 in the NL in Win Shares Above Average (WSAA), which calculate based on the number of games a team has won. Rolen is #2, Pujols is #4, and Edmonds is #5.
August 7, 200421 yr Despite his k in his first ab he played a part in this win.. Mets didnt want Admin to beat em in the 9th so IBB and load the bases for a rookie in Yadier Molina. Molina delivered the game winning hit and Edmonds scores the winning run, after walking himself. It was kinda cool seeing the celebration because Matt Morris went right over to Admin and pulled him in the middle of it welcoming him already to this club. He was probably feeling pretty odd at that time though :lol
August 7, 200421 yr ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Admin Walker is 1-0 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and he played a supporting role in the victory with his new team. Rookie Yadier Molina, batting with the bases loaded after an intentional walk to Walker, blooped a single to center with two outs in the ninth inning Saturday for a 2-1 victory over the New York Mets. Walker, acquired in a trade with Colorado on Friday night, was welcomed with a standing ovation that lasted well over a minute when he pinch-hit with two on and one out in the seventh. A near-sellout crowd of 45,364 stayed on its feet throughout the at-bat and gave him another ovation even after he struck out against Kris Benson. ``Probably one of the most nervous at-bats I've had in my career was today,'' Walker said. ``The ovation I got, even after I struck out, I felt like I was supposed to wave to the crowd and say thanks. It was amazing.'' Walker soon participated in the winning rally. The fans booed when the five-time All-Star was walked intentionally by Mike Stanton (0-5) with runners on second and third and two outs in the ninth. Molina followed by dumping a soft single into shallow left-center. ``They walked a good hitter,'' Molina said. ``They're just playing the game. That was my part.'' ``I'm happy to be here,'' Walker said. ``It's a great situation, great team, great fans. There's only one way to think, and that's good.'' Game Recap
