AJxAcex34
wagner, madsen, milwood and Padilla are all on the injured list and now Pat Burrell is out for the year. the Phillies are done. we should be able to pass them very soon and then it becomes the Giants and San diego which will start to fade out and SF and SD play each other 6 more times and they each play LA 7 and 6 times. Our main focus is now the Cubs we are 5 games back and we have to get on a winning streak and be hot when we play them for those 6 games later on. The wild card is there for us!!!!!!! FreshFish
Take 2 out of 3 from the Cards, and I will still be hopeful. Otherwise, we could be in a big hole by Friday
Beinfest4Prez
Wow. I hope Pat The Bat gets better because I am a UM fan. But screw the Phils. Hahaha.
DTrizzle
obviously we have a chance being 5.5 out but we better start off well this series with the cards 2-1 is a must
Rune
The Phillies are done baby, going 5 out of 6 without Burrell proves without a doubt that they are done. It's over, 5 out of 6. That's pathetic. Do some of you care to look up anything before you post?
Ramp
Phillies also just got a decent pitcher in Cory Lidle
Rune
Madson will be back, plus FRod and Todd Jones have been great for the phils so far so not exactly losses from the bullpen. Burrell has been slumping, his loss is not exactly trouble. When Admin Bowa smartens up and puts in JMike they have a suitable replacement there and like I said 5 - 6 against the 2nd and third place wildcard teams is so horrible. To say that losing Pat Burrell is enough to bury them is laughable considering you're the team who lost Lowell last year for a chunk of time and their's no comparison betwen Burrell and Lowell. Rune
It's amazing they're doing better without Pat the Bat... 503554[/snapback] Marlon Byrd has been playing like The Marlon that made him one of the top prospects coming up, Relief pitching has been given strong depth with Frod and Jones and they've stopped relying solely on homeruns and sacrifice flys to get runs, Thome is the prime example with his two out rip of Gagne. mafatumatt
while i hate the phils, im sad to see pat out for the year, he was one of my favorite players in his incredible days at UM... oh well, atleast if he had to go down, it hurts the phillies!!! AJxAcex34
5 out of 6 ant sh*t specially when you beat the slumping Padres nd then get a lucky win against Gagne andthenget lucky that Penny gets hurt in the first inning......so Rune dont get carried away with 5 out of 6. aso the Philliesare nt good at home and Cory Lidle is not that good..... wolf, milton, myers, lidle and abbott thats no a good rotation when Bret Myers is your 3rd pitcher. also we survived Lowell being out because we had a more complete team and we piced up Conine who got on fire as soon as we got him speciallyagainst the Phillie and the Phillies dont have the pitching that we had last year. Also I have no idea what game you're taking about because Cararra(I believe that's how you spell it) pitched great in Penny's replacement for most of the game it was a 1 - 0 rubber match on The Chase Utley HR given up by Penny but I guess you would know more about that. Also you might have also forgot to look up that Abbot is out of the rotation, Wolf is taking up his next start and Padilla is just about back, so once again do you care to look any of these things up? Wagner and Madson will be back but until that time THe Bullpen is fine with Jones, Rodriguez, and Worrell with Cormier and Powell bringing up the rear. AJxAcex34
well since you know everything about the Phillies, saying that all these players are coming back soon....when are those dates.till i see them on the field those guys are in trouble with all those injuries. Plus that bull pen that you mentioned does not scare anyone without wagner. also the marlins have been playing bad against team under .500 but they can still beat the Phillies and they dont face to many under .500 teams anymore. and for the Phillies record at home (we are talking about the Phillies) you better win your home games if you want to make it to the playoffs. and to say Burrell is not a big loss...he is there 3rd best hitter and Jason Mchaels has not proven anything and he does notcompare to Burrell and is Michaels was as good as one of you say he is then why dont they start him at CF and why did the Phillies try hard to acquire a CF
prorl
Good news for the Marlins, bad news for my fantasy team. Thats ok cuz i have a decent replacement.

I still have to ask you do you care to look anything up. You say: Pat Burrell is a big loss, he's their third best hitter. What do the numbers say: 221 june for Burrell and 220 July. Oh my god! The Phillies have just lost everything. It's over. NO NO NO NO NO. What will they do now without a guy who's hit below 225 for the last two months. Back to being serious, I'm sorry I didn't know The Mendoza line was now the measuring stick for recent success. I apologize It doesn't scare anyone without Wagner, I'm glad because it's not supposed to scare and it never has this season with Wagner struggling to compare to his former numbers. Let me guess you forgot to look up his numbers. Todd Jones and F Rod since they joined The Phils... 8 IP combined, nothing given up. Now I called my friends at MIT and they got back to me and told me that 0 runs given up would be the equivalent of an 0 era. Why you ask because Admin Bowa is an idiot, oh and you want to know why they inquired about a starting CF. I don't know Einstein maybe because they traded their starting CF. Honestly, where have you been for the past few weeks. Call me crazy but I thought you would have known that you generally try to look up a replacement after you trade your starter. Marlins Phenom
Well i have to agree with Rune in everything. Phils are playing alot better without Pat. They added a decent pitcher today by trading for Corey Lidle. It is still a 5 team race in the Wild Card IMO. Sad to see a UM player go down but who cares? LETS GO MARLINS! And IMO the best player to come out of UM recently is Mr.Huff!
WildMarlinMan2003
Phils are done because Admin Bowa is their manager. Period.

AJxAcex34
ok "my young friend" they were looking for a CF before they traded Ricky Ledee, they been looking for a CF since they sent down Byrd and now he is back and Michaels is still not starting that tells you about him. As far as Burrell yes he has a low avg. but he is still 3rd in HR and 3rd in RBI's 18 and 68 and the next guy in rbi's is utley and leiberthal with a 40 (oh yeah thats a lot). think about it i dont care if you might not like Burrell but he scares team more than any other Philly besides Abreu and Thome. name me another Philly hitter that will scare anyone or can protect Thome and Abreu....there is no one. FishFanPR
Let's try to avoid pointless discussions about that team in Philadelphia. Instead, let's focus on the bottom line: we're in the playoff race, although some refuse to say we are.....the Wild Card is very, very reachable at this point, but the St. Louis series is crucial. playball! Utley is a much bigger producer than Burrell has ben but of course his ab's means nothing because he's in The MLB that must been his AB's have ben the same. I ask this from you because you have yet to do it, Look at the numbers. Burrell has been slumping and has been a small step above what he was doing last year. You then say that his average does not matter because he hits homeruns. :lol :lol :lol , Rob Deer is a hall of fame caliber player I assume in your eyes. Yeah, losing that 220 average is so damaging. I cry for the fact that his 220 average is going to hurt the lineup because it will be so missed. Maybe a running back who's averaging 2.5 per rush would be a loss to a football team. Look at the numbers instead of just putting crap out of the top of your head which you've been doing. Burrell has been a bust for the past two months and to say that's a loss is ignorance. Rune
Burrell's awesome numbers for June and July 220, 4, 11 221, 4, 15 Those numbers can't be replaced or lost. I'm sorry for my ignorance before because those numbers are too much too lose. It's all over for The Phils.
AJxAcex34
who would they rather take from the Phillies besides Thome and Abreu....i would take Burrell, yeah Utley has done a good job but let see how he does with more at bats and you'll see his .283 avg. go down. basically what you are saying is that the Phillies are better of without Burrell, ok will see about that when they start dropping off in the standings.
