August 10, 200421 yr No not Major League which most sheep will say, it certainly is a classic comedy but in no way can it compare to Slap Shot. I was reorganizing my DVD's today and decided to put Slap Shot in and even after the numerous times of watching it, the jokes and classic movies never get old. It's not as much The Hanson Brothers as it's Paul Newman quite possibly the coolest man to ever live, so smooth with delivery and set up so many great jokes including one of the first jokes of the movie. Paul's talking to an opponent. "I'm a f***ing drunk and my wife left me and that a**hole over there keeps putting me out here when he knows I'm s*** faced, if anyone checks me into the boards I'm gonna piss myself" Then when Bradden gives him the check he just walks back into the bench with his hands all over himself down there. So many great moments and a sad day that most kids have either no idea about this movie let alone watch it.
August 10, 200421 yr I love the opening scene where the goalie smacking around the reporter. That movie is friggin hilarious.
August 10, 200421 yr Author I love the opening scene where the goalie smacking around the reporter. That movie is friggin hilarious. 504714 The first 10 minutes of the movie alone are worth to buy the dvd, at the fashion show he makes a huge deal about whipping it out if he has to wear that robe, The owner takes the phone and all you hear are women screaming and running. I love that movie.
August 11, 200421 yr Caddyshack fo sho Happy Gilmore as well hell, I'll even add Waterboy (and I'm not a Sandler fan particularly)
August 11, 200421 yr Author To Compare Happy Gilmore to Slapshot is hilarious. Happy Gilmorre tried to mix Caddyshack and SlapShot together and still try to get a pg 13 rating which is so dumb, it's beyond reasonable thinking. If you're going to do a good sports comedy an R rating is all you should be aiming for, and it showed in Happy Gilmore which tried to use lame physical humor to make up for swears. What came out was another stupid Adam Sandler movie who's about as hackish you can get for a high paid actor. If they wanted it to be a good movie they wouldn't have wasted the great supporting cast they had including Carl Weathers.
August 11, 200421 yr I guess I'm going to be a "sheep" and say Major League. I thought that it was funnier than Slapshot and Caddyshack.
August 11, 200421 yr I should probably rewatch Slapshot, cause the one time I saw it, it just didn't do anything for me. I found the Hanson brothers amusing, but the rest of the movie I was all :sleeping I'm gonna have to agree with Caddyshack.
August 12, 200421 yr Caddyshack has got to be the funniest. Chevy Chase as Ty Webb steals the show. and there is no one, i think, anyone can hate more than Judge Smails. when he gives the caddy a handful of change as a tip...classic.
August 13, 200421 yr Adam Sandler is one of the funniest comedic actors in the world. I own each and every one of his movies. He is awesome.
August 14, 200421 yr Caddyshack. So many great lines from that movie too. "A Cinderella story...the 18th at Augusta..." Second best for me is SlapShot.
August 14, 200421 yr Major League. Slap Shots is a POS overrated 70s movie with a cult following. It just falls under the "cool to like since it's not mainstream" category.
August 14, 200421 yr Yah, I'd say 1) Caddyshack 2) LITTLE GIANTS (that was the name of the movie right?) 3) Happy Gilmore
August 14, 200421 yr 2) LITTLE GIANTS (that was the name of the movie right?) 511957 Yeah, that was hilarious. "I call it, Intimidation."
August 17, 200421 yr Adam Sandler is one of the funniest comedic actors in the world. I own each and every one of his movies. He is awesome. 509189 Except for 50 first dates, Mr Deeds, and oh, everything since Big Daddy. He sucks lately, Happy Madison production = :thumbdown However, I'll go with Happy Gilmore, I thought it was funny.

And yes, I already owned Mr. Deeds. He's hilarious. If you liked Big Daddy, how can you not like the rest of his stuff?? Especially Little Nicky.. That movie was awesome. Adam Sandler is right up there with Mike Myers for me....
