The Great Debate

your response may take a while but you will get one....

ive gotten one each time i have written.....

I would hope you would get one from the guy you're going to be working for. It's not quite the same, Ramp.

later......

yea but i had gotten one each time before i even asked for the internship

David Samson is a good guy and is doing all he can.

I emailed him once and he was pretty prompt and kind in his reply.

I appreciate that. Something most organizations wouldnt do.

I guess you could call me HOYA, because this team is going to get it done. Management is doing a real good job of putting together a real good team. I am excited. As long as we can stay healthy.

Well after emailing Samson a few weeks back I have recieved a response....

Here it is...

Dear Adam, I have forwarded your e-mail to our Public Relations Department,

who will evaluate your suggestion regarding Marlinsbaseball.com. I also

disagree with your characterization that Tim Spoonybarger and Juan Pierre

do not make our team better today. We are adding great value to being a

Marlins' season ticket holder, as evidenced by our numerous season ticket

packages, designed for any fan who likes the Marlins. Thank you for your

e-mail.

Regards,

David Samson

BAMA OR HOYA ......

:burns

Well I don't believe in the current management but the recent moves that "puppet management" made were reasonable. What I believe in is our current players that they will improve and the Marlins are playoffs bound.I'll never be Hoya since you have to be loyal to the "puppet management" and believe in their so call "plan"....

  • 3 months later...

i consder myself in the BAMA

do you have a clue?

LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I'm starting to believe in the "puppet management" and I will no longer consider myself neutral.I will no longer use "puppet management" in reference to Marlins front office.Loria and Samson have convince me that they are trying to make Baseball succesful once again.

HOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always been an Hoya, I'm a very conservative person who accepts change, but not drasticly. I think we have a good core of players, mut of them home grown, who are coming along together and are reaching that level of maturity. A good farm system like ours should give us the possibility to change any part of the big league machine when we feel is right. This kind of system takes long to flourish, but once it does, it is usually the type that will stay on top for a long time, because parts can be replaced little by little and by the time one more part needs to be replaced the previoulsly replaced part is already in big league shape. I really like this idea of having a deep farm system and guys that come along together, create a bond and a sense of family, i think the dodgers used to have that and they were a very good team for many years.

Its funny how things have changed over the years.

While I am not as BAMA as I was back then, I'd say the passion of the movement still exists.

But thats not the point, I think the HOYA v BAMA debates are something we are seeing here again, just not without the titles.

Which camp do you belong to?

I think you need to tell everyone what these mean Das

BAMA= Bitch And Moan Association: often those fans wanting to see changes made on the team, either for the sake of making changes, or because changes need to be made to better the team both in the short and long term. This group of people are tired of the waiting around and are never happy. The stereotype is that these people are never happy and bitch for the sake of bitching.

HOYA= Hands On Your Ass: The front office will figure it out. They know what they are doing so there is no point to complaining. Have faith and be patient in those that are getting paid to do it all. The stereotype is that these people are happy go lucky and just are blind homers of the team never batting a critical eye.
