How can you support this country when it goes to invade and kills innocent people all just to benefit a couple of wealthy others.

 

I find it pretty hypocritical of you to say that. Cuba doesn't invade other countries yet they kill their OWN people. So, I ask you the same question. How can you support a country that kills its own people for no real reason and the dictator rolls around in cash while the people are working their asses off to support their families. My uncle has been working his ass off to help support his son who is mentally handicapped. Yet he has gotten little to nothing and they regularly ask us to send medicine, even VITAMINS. Sometimes they even ask us for SOAP because over there it is too expensive and they need the money for food.

And I offered a counter to your opinion on Cuba, as a Cuban-American citizen whose family was betrayed by the Castro regime and who has lobbyed for Cuban issues in Washington in front of Congressmen and women.

 

I see absolutely nothing I have said to be immature, I do find however your escape tactics from this debate to be silly and in need of greater planning. Instead of offering up serious answers to points myself and others have posed, you offer simple one word answers and "just cuz" explanations. First let me say I dont agree with marlinguru on this issue and I do think his arguments are a bit radical, he is allowed to make them.

 

But I find it interesting that we have another thread accusing liberals on the board of being the primary source of name calling and direct shots. Yet a look at this thread shows it has gotten pretty personal and a lot of people, though not all conservative, have taken a lot of shots at the clearly very leftist counterargument. Now Im sure people take this issue personally and if someone came on here and said Hitler was a good human, they would be blasted and rightfully so. I think as a theory, it provides an idealized solution to the problems of a lot of nations rather than the commonly given "poor people just dont try hard enough." In places like S. America, its gotta be hard to see some people starving to death while others eat lavishley. Its gotta be hard to see patronage systems that are in place for a lot of undertalented people. The problem with it is of course well illustrate in the great Animal Farm. Its a theory. It ignore human nature, the greatest mistakes of theories. Its the same mistake a lot of pure free marketers make however when assuming people will not be unethical.
