Friday's series opener against the Padres at Petco Park is the first of 12 games in 24 days for the Marlins against teams ahead of them in the wild-card standings.

The Bell Tolls For The Padres

Nice to see we have ol' mo on our side going into the series....and also a tough pitching rotation....Willis, Beckett and Pavano.

Let's go for the sweep. :thumbup

yep these are the most important games for the Fish. we've got games against the Pads, Giants, and Cubs coming up.

Willis, Beckett, and Pavano going up against 3 so-so pitchers for San Diego. I think they can definitely take 2 of 3.

Then it's back home for 3 vs the Giants in another crucial series.

After the Rockies and Mets (which we SHOULD be able to handle), we've got 6 of the next 9 vs the Cubs in what might make or break our wild card chances.

The great thing about our remaining schedule is we get to play all the teams in front of us in the wild card chase.

Hopefully Miss Bartmann will show up :)

One game at a time, one series at a time.

We need to win each series we are in from here on out. At least. We have time. SF, SD and the Cubs arent going to run away with this thing. And the Braves will struggle - they are due.

Are you oblivious or living on the moon? The Giants are having a better stretch of baseball than the Marlins right now. And when you are 4 games behind a hot team, you lose a game here and there and 4 games quickly becomes 6, did we not already see this from the Braves this year? One week we are in the lead, 2 weeks later, nearly double digit games behind.

I came back from Israel so now we have to start winning...

Especially now that the games are going to be more important.

I wish the Braves would start doing bad so we can win the division instead of trying to go for the wild card...its just easier to chase one team instead of multiple teams...

5 games back in the wild card, but only 3 games back in the loss column.... That means we MUST win at LEAST 2 of 3 of each of those series and probably would need a sweep if we really want a shot, if we take 2 of 3 then we would still need help from other teams.

Kepp in mind we are only 3 GAMES back in the loss column. The reason we are 5 GAMES back overall is cause some of those teams have played more games than us.

Well...if we play bad than it will be bad that the other teams played more than us because than we will be even further behind.

But hopefully we can take advantage of having played less games and I think we will be able to take advantage.

I think we can go on a nice streak now after having played good against the Dodgers.

i have faith that we'll do good and win the series

dont lose the faith and GO MARLINS!

so basically what ur saying is if we play bad it will be bad cuz if were bad that is very bad that were playing bad cuz if obviously if were playing bad that can only be bad right? and we can take advantage of playing less games that huge difference of less games played is incredible..what is it 2 or 3? but i guess its bad that if we play bad we will be bad?
