The pitchers' confidence is clearly visible as they throw to Lo Duca. If only an external form of proof, look at how much better and more consistent the pitching has gotten too. And Lo Duca fit right in with this group. I think Conine is the quiet leader here, but Lo Duca has a big role too and it is more vocal. I saw it today as he handled the pitchers. He also looks very much like Fudge out there.

Starting pitching tanked in June and July, because of injuries to Beckett was injured and Penny wearing down, not because Redmond and Treanor were calling games. Starting pitching came around mid-August when Beckett came back healthy. That's why were winning.

September 15, 200421 yr I love Mike Redmond, and I hope he is on the team a long time and I hope he gets good playing time in the future, but you got to remember..MIKE IS A BACK-UP CATCHER..allways will be, yes he can hit the ball, yes, his defense is suficient to start, but, as anyone can see during the summer months, Mike just dosent have the stamina to start all the time, when he started in 3 day shifts, you could see him start to ware down...Mike might have enough talent to start, but i dont think he has the stamina to start on a consistant basis, Paul is better in every category at the catching postion over mikey..most importantly staminia, wich is why I hope we sign him for atlest 3 years, and Redmond as his back up would be perfect.

When he started over this summer, he was tired out and it was hurting him, Red is a guy who plays 1 ,maybe 2 games a week at best, I just dont see him playing top notch baseball 3 to 4, to 5 days a week for an entire season, he would play his heart out, but it would kill him...and it's debatable about Willingham behind the plate, he could be the next best thing, but i dont like letting Loduca go for it

How can you ignore that with Redmond and Willingham as our catchers, this team was going nowhere? They both have talent, but we were barely getting average production from our catchers. Willingham is so far away from being a major league ballplayer it's almost laughable. There's probably less than a 50% chance he'll ever be more than a backup catcher, IF, and it's a big if, he ever makes it to the majors.
