Enjoy... :whistle _______________________________ The Florida Marlins today announced the Club is scheduled to open its 13th season of Major League Baseball on Tuesday, April 5 at Pro Player Stadium. Florida will host the Atlanta Braves at 4:05 pm in the team?s 11th Opening Day in Miami. The team opened the 1994 season in Los Angeles and the 2002 season in Montreal. The 2005 home schedule features visits by all 15 National League Clubs, three American League opponents and three visits each by the Marlins four NL East rivals. Florida will open the season with a nine-game homestand against the Braves, Expos and Phillies from April 5 through April 13. The Marlins will play their longest homestand of the year, 13 games over 14 days, from August 9 through August 22. The team will face the Arizona Diamondbacks, the San Francisco Giants, the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Florida will host the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers for Interleague action in Miami when the Devil Rays visit on May 20, the Mariners on June 7 and the Rangers on June 10. The 2005 season will feature a new Sunday start time of 1:05 pm. Weeknight games will remain at 7:05 pm, Friday?s at 7:35 pm and Saturday?s at 6:05 pm. Season tickets are available for all 2005 Florida Marlins home games at Pro Player Stadium. October 6, 200421 yr Bad idea to move the Sunday start time back to 1:00. Attendance was way up on Sundays this year with the start time at 4:00. They just lost 50-75K in attendance with that move.
