So who won debate #2?

Featured Replies

Bush came out a little stronger than he did in Round 1

Kerry still took him to school, Bush isnt very familiar with a town hall forum, they said on CBS that Kerry had done something like 70-80 town hall forum meetings before, and knows the format well. That worked to his advantage tonight. Overall, as usual Kerry's delivery was better and more focused than Dubyas

Bush did better but Kerry still won IMO. Kerry was assertive and attacking. He dismissed Bush's arguments and Bush kept saying the same stuff. I was more impressed with Kerry on this one than on the last one.

Bush was also way to angry. Kerry was very empathetic.

Kerry came out ahead in the end. Bush was stronger, but still looked almost angry and nervous at times.

Kerry was the one who seemed angry. Bush seemed bushy as always.

I wouldn't give a big edge either way. Bush did better than the first debate. If he bombed again it might have been disastrous. He still stumbles out there, but he made it a little more even.

He's obviously much more comfortable in this kind of setting, but seemed to be angry all night. Maybe it was the jobs report.... :whistle

Very confrontational though, they basically just went back & forth all night, rarely stuck to the questions or talked issues.

Kerry rehashed numbers too much instead of talking about "big ideas" which the dems like, Bush was ready to pop a vein all night & just says "I'm right" over & over again.

Someone who Kerry mentioned as a leading republican who wanted to change the patriot act said the claim was false after the debate. :o

What are you talking about? Bush was almost yelling at Charles Gibson. Come on.

ABCnews has Kerry winning by about 6 or so points while Msnbc Kerry by 60% :plain. These are obviously instant polls but I say it comes out more like 8% Kerry. Bush gave what we already knew and mostly Kerry the same however I think the fact that he didn't try to take the whole thing as a joke, will be the factor.

Kerry would win in your opinion if he had farted into the microphone. :plain

Someone who could do that would prove to be a leader.

I doubt this debate has much bearing on the polls. Of course that's how I felt coming in too considering its on a Friday night and the 2nd of three.

I think's safe to say the average American voter isn't out answering polls right now. :whistle

Who cares...

Agreed !

I am wondering how many of you are changing your vote, based on these debates. I am wondering how many of you come into these debates with an open mind, or look at these debates and just try to bash the other guy.

I'll be honest with you, my mind is made up. These debates will have no effect on who I vote for. I watched the debate. Kerry made some valid points, Bush made some valid points, but most of the debate is just each candidate regurgitating everything that they have said.

Please only those of you OLD enough to VOTE, respond, I dont care what a NON Voter wants to vote for.

Kerry would have denied he farted and blamed the fart on his shoes. Then when the polls proved the soccer mom loved the fart he would have turned around and said, "Hell yes i farted,.......i had gas, like the normal american man."

I believe Kerry came out on top, although it was much closer than the first debate, where Bush looked lost. Bush did look horrible when asked about the environment. The facts don't lie, although the president did. I'm glad Kerry mentioned how Bush's environmental advisor resigned in protest about a year ago. I remembered when I first heard that, and knew that the only reason someone would resign in protest would be if he was going in the wrong direction. There's no doubt in my mind that Kerry would put the environment in the right direction again.

Bush continued to ignore the world's opinion of the United States. Clearly he has decided that he could care less about the rest of the world.

One final note: A week after President Bush mentioned Poland as a key member of the Iraq coalition, Poland announced that they will greatly step down their involvement in Iraq.

CNN has Kerry winning by almost 70 % out of 90000 votes. it is 83% Kerry, 16% Bush, and 1% other.

It's also CNN. :o

See what more polls say tomorrow, when normal people vote. Kerry will still win, but no by 70.

I think it was pretty even.

Most importantly. I think Bush rebounded strongly from the 1st debate debacle. He looked confortably and decisive. Kerry looked good as well, and this prove again that he is a good debater.

Whoever says that one candidate took the other to school, is delusional.
