Cubs considering Len Kasper to replace Caray

Featured Replies

The Padres guy is the leading candidate by all appearances, so hopefully he takes the job and this isn't an issue.

I like Kasper, and would hate to see his talents wasted on announcing for the Flubs.

According to the Padres and Cox Cable, Matt will be with them in 2005.

Of course that's what they are saying, we shall see if that's the case though.

Contingency in case this happens...

DVH slides over to TV with Tommy and rotates with Boog every 3 innings on the radio side.

DVH is perfect for radio, even if offered the opportunity I doubt he would want to switch over to TV.

He did TV with Montreal along with radio. In fact he and Tommy Hutton worked for many seasons together in the Expos TV Booth when the Expos were on CTV and TSN.

You all do understand this happens every offseason? The only thing is this year I made it a conversation piece. Last year Boog was chasing the Mets job.

I would be disappointed to lose Len. But, it sounds like a good career move for him.

I have no problem with DVH (2/3rds), Boog 1/3rd on TV. Helluva test for Boog's ego. He fought DVH for two years before he realized the value of his knowledgable, professional partner.

And regarding "Up, Up, and Away," what do you want: "Slam-a-Lam-a-Ding-Dong" with a bell?

This from a Joe Angel fan.

Boog had been fighting with DVH and trying to get out of the Marlins booth, but since mid-2003, his tune has changed. He realized that DVH is an excellent partner because he is there for the good of the game.

No one remembers a television call....it is always the radio call you hear in the hall of fame.

No problem Boog. I'm sure there are dozens of hot-dogs who would love to have your Marlins spot (some better than you.)

Try the Mets again.

You have grown, in spite of yourself.

You've never been a team player.

Now, yourself is due for a lesson.

Bye-Bye Boog. Good Luck, but mostly Good-Bye.

Boog is going to be back next year (not sure the flagship though) along with DVH. Len is being courted by the Cubs/WGN/Comcast.

Len should stay. I wouldn't mind seeing the Cubs taking DVH

Cubs taking DVH would be like the people of Atlanta celebrating Gen. William Sherman burning down Atlanta.
